Actually I just like japanese music/cinema/literature.

Don't think I need to learn japanese to enjoy it moar, despite I want. Who knows one day?

Just use the Latin alphabet. Speakers/listeners manage fine with homophones, so can readers.

Like in Japanese you have hiragana acting as various grammar functions like topic, subject, place, action, and tense markers, with kanji making up concepts and things, so you can quickly work out a sentence. But Chinese is a fucking string of kanji/hanzi.

The biggest problem with Mandarin is that there's so many fucking homophones. In speaking if you fuck up the tones your whole sentence has a chance of coming out as complete gibberish.
