It's not random. Every move in the string is carefully chosen to put me into the stance I need to be in to have access to the alternative attacks I might need, which in turn transition into other strings. This game isn't about just mashing a string endlessly, you have to be reacting to what your opponent is doing and predict what they think you are going to do, and then do something else.

I do, but if I make a video about something for example - I prefer to have full fights available.rather than. If I make an Absolver video, I'd expect it to be some minutes long because of full fights with downtime/respawn time cut out and stuff.

The pattern is more complicated than 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, yes. But it's not as complex as you think. And yes, I did spend a lot of time thinking and practicing in meditation, lol.

Top string chains into itself. The first move in it puts me in top-left, which is where my guard-breaker elbow drop is. I go through the string once. If they turtle the whole time, then I use the guard-breaker. That puts me in low-left stance. This is a jab-spam string to apply pressure after the guard-break. If they just keep turtling, the last move in the string lets me use guard-break again. The second move lets me use the hyper armor move in case they dodge and try to counter-attack after my guard-break, which puts me into the top-left string. From here, more jab pressure and a sweep at the end in case they start panicking and dodge or play windfall. Also, again, I can use guard-break from the second move in the string. Also, the bottom-right string is my big damage string for feinting to bait out parrys with big punishers.

You get the idea. Everything is carefully chosen to give me a way to alter my playstyle to adapt to my opponent.

I can't get over how little damage some people do. I'm in the highest blunt resist gear I have but some people hit me triple the amount of times I hit them and I still come out with more hp.

I know fast attacks are weak obviously but even their heavier attacks seem to hit for fuck all sometimes.

This was kind of a "love at first sight" game for me. As soon as I discovered it about a month ago I was anxiously anticipating the release. I've had tons of fun playing it so far, and I'm fairly optimistic for the future.

However, because of how excited I was for the game, I thought that feeling was a bit more universal, and it's surprising to me how many people are ignoring this game, even saying it looks boring (which is insane to me). I'm confident though that the game will have a steady community for a long time. It doesn't have to have broad appeal I suppose.

i'm using the stagger deck the guy gave me from unlocking him but his moves are locked. i accidentally removed one and now cant replace it. how do i unlock it to edit

Every single combat trial I get now is tremendously unfun and it makes me sad it happened this quick. It's all the same .0000001 second combos and sweeps every time and I can't even begin to do anything with with creative or fun movesets anymore, after enough I just unlock and alt tab so they can hurry up and match against their own shit quicker, it brings down the mood so much.

My heal and shockwave just dissapeared from my inventory, has this happened to anyone else and how do i get them back.

You don't "need" anything. You underestimate how good feints are, you can immediately jump to a different attack in your stance with feints, to set up your "bad" moves.
There's no bad moves in the game at all, just uncreative people who's got no clue how to build a more unique deck that would be twice as effective as your plebbit-deck simply because it's built around your capabilities, preferences and strengths without being as predictable as these fucks.

how much does mobility matter?

Does it make sense to be at 20 mobility for example?
I tried testing out the difference between 20 (normal) and 24 (fast) but the dodge speed and stamina usage seems the same

20 is the softcap for all stats, so I keep my mobility, strength, and dexterity all at 20 to get the most efficient damage bonus I can from all my moves. The rest I dumped into vitality and endurance.

It will never be balanced, the meta will just shift to something new and OP. This is on purpose to keep the game fresh, balance is boring. Adapt or move on fags.

jabs were the proto-meta starting out. jabs are incredibly fast, they have decent range and they counter anything that doesn't explicitly counter them in turn. the first 2 days were just people setting up combos with jabs on one another.

now people have started adapting to that with thrust/high avoiding attacks that are slower at the cost of countering jabs.

you basically need to set up your combat deck so that you always have access to a a fast high and a semi-fast mid at the very least. the combat deck system is very open so you should be able to do this easily. sometimes you'll just have to stick to the 2 moves that actually work against your opponent if all they're doing is spamming the 1 move that works against 90% of the playerbase. sometimes you have to fight simple-minded spam with a different form simple-minded spam that counters that spam.

That "sweeps,fast attacks" shit doesn't work against decent people, i always loose to something different, every time, either dude figured out my chains or started feinting good, or some really fast and unpredictable swagger beat my ass and dodged\blocked my every attack, and i wasn't able to change strats in time. Its always something different. Fuck, i was having a blast yesterday with old deck, today i changed, slapped something that i didn't used before, and i still kick people with relative success.

for example, if your opponent is spamming jabs, you can use the rolling uppercut to go below his jabs and knock his fucking lights out

the big massive attacks aren't supposed to be combo starters. that's not what they're meant for. it's like you were saying that jabs are shit because they're bad for pushing through blockers. either get really good at abusing the attacks that avoid other attacks to set up combos, or outplay your opponent at footsies and start with a long range kick, or just use a quick left hook to start your combo like normal people

Oh fuck off. Every brain dead idiot knows if you going to have an opener it needs to be fast. This is just fundamentally correct. Especially since hyper armor moves can be poke - parried/absorbed. So of course you have a fast poke for an opener. Lows negate more than half of possible moves, can be as fast as a poke and most of them are sweeping kicks. This means that one move can negate most attacks. Leaving one (1) possible counterplay. Parry. But parrying is incredibly unsafe since you can feint. So now its a game of will they go through so I can parry and punish or will they feint?

Looking at the image, the color is breaking up the combos.
Blue lines are your normal attack path.
Yellow lines is your alternate attack path.
Grey lines are "wait" paths, the stance you'll end if you don't attack right away.

Honestly, I don't think it's that useful. The best thing it has are "wait" paths, which are pretty hard to visualize. I think a good deck would have a ton of them so that your stance is always switching and feinting will leave you in other stances.
