There should be 3 tiers of loot

1. The casual tier. You get this through beating the game, doing hard side quests, maybe doing a nightfall or two maybe attempting easy mode strike. This is 70% of the gear

2. The hardcore tier. Basically people that do the nightfall and hardmode raid every week and stock up on strange coins to buy shit from Xur. This is like 25% of the gear

3. The autistic tier. Basically people running HM raids with three characters and the same with nightfall and deleting those characters and getting them through the story again just for another shot at the HM raid before the reset and so you can roll that 1% chance at getting this gens gjallarhorn. This should make up 5% of the loot.

Yea sue me if I think that autists who put in autistic time should be autistically rewarded. They are the ones after all who keep this game afloat. There should be elite rewards for people like that which are significant and make them desirable to play with. I joined a raid from this general, with 3/4 raid armor and a fully leveled raid primary, and got booted because I didn't have it.

Once a person steps on a plate and his sheild goes down, the corridor gets locked until the rest of the people do enough damage to the boss. That always struck me as odd. In every story where this is a triumphant hero/heroes, there is always a band of people who are jealous of them, despite being protected by them.

I guess the issue is the math doesn't work, if the boss has 3x health and you have to do x damage before his shield come back and the door lifts, if the guy in the plate dies you can't do enough damage. So make his health 2.5X or something, and make it so it is very hard to survive on a plate with just one or two guardians, so with a better person standing on the plate, you have more guardians for DPS

One of the games that did this well of all things was fucking SWTOR. The imperial agent story line was like a fucking spy movie. Darth Jadus the sith Lord was in charge of imperial intelligence, you do some missions for him, then his ship gets attacked and blown up under mysterious circumstances. Wouldn't be out of character for another sith Lord to make a power play to eliminate a rival or gain his seat on the dark council, so everyone is trying to figure out who did it. His daughter takes his seat on the dark council, but she is young and doesn't have a power base, so she is best on all sides by rival sith, and everyone is making moves in the shadows.

You go back out to try and gather evidence and obtain information, and you eventually meet up with Jadus again. He orchestrated everything from the beginning to throw his rivals off balance and making them waste their time and resources fighting each other, making preparations while their attention was diverted. Even gave up his own daughter as a decoy, since she was weak and made too tempting of a target. All so he could take the information that you gathered to decrypt a security block on orbital laser defense platforms which he wanted to use to nuke every other sith rival simultaneously, and start a war where only the strongest of the sith would survive, the ones who deserve to rule.
