With Fo3/NV, the best you can hope for is looking good from the side / front. Since you can't control certain parts of the face in-game, your cheeks / jaw are gonna always be fucky. I always just hit random until I get a general shape I can work with them do it from there.
>>
>>187698727

Honestly I usually stick close to the default face shape and mostly distinguish my character with hair and colour.

Especially in Fallout 4, change the skin tone remove all the blemishes, change the skin texture and add a beard and he looks completely different without even touching the geometry.

So, did we talk about this decompiled list of upcoming CC mods? Sort of fits in line with what was previously stated, showing the naming structure and how to "identify" the mod authors.
Creation Club Bethesda Game Studio Fallout 4 being ccBGSF04, for example, though it suggests that some of the initial launch may have been early internal develop (whoever ccFSVF refers to).

Besides what's already existing, looks like we're getting a few more Pipboy skins, the Mauler from The Pitt, the Praetor Suit, BFG, and chainsaw from Doom, and then some Decoration pack.

This is why i never liked script extenders. They come out and then all the mods that dont really need them start becoming dependent on them, and before you know it you need them for very basic functionality, and then they break and everything's ruined. Why the fuck do i need a script extender for an armor mod? Why do i need an armor station mod for an armor mod? Just put it in a fucking crate in sanctuary or something.
>>
>>187702986
>society is progressing in such a way that loli becomes more and more restricted and greed becomes more and more prevalent

>>
>>187706894
the issue isn't the script extender, it's the people who make mods with it.

They insist on making snowflakes, just to show off. There's barely any useful mods for fallout 4 that use F4SE, only bloatware mods that do it as side-features to mask their project being terrible in the first place.
>>
>>187706894
People are sick and tired of filling their games with crates or shoveling everything into the Chem station. Like, have you ever seen the Steel category in Skyrim after some modding? It's fucking insane.

Way back when Bethesda said FO4 would only be getting a year of support before they moved on, no one knew at the time they'd be doing paid mods and updating further.

To be most, most of those elaborate player made settlements are fuck ugly and have design problems them most vanilla settlements do.

If anything, the only settlement mods I would like getting are ones that disable like half the shit in the vanilla +DLC settlement menu for how obviously it doesn't belong.

Following the army of Securitron's victory at Hoover Dam and the ensuing independence of New Vegas, chaos ruled the Mojave. The Old Mormon Fort struggled to provide basic service to its patients, many of them dying from untreated wounds due to the lack of supplies.

A member of the Followers of the Apocalypse, Elizabeth joined Julie Farkas and the others in providing medical assistance at the Fort. With the help of Jerry the Punk and using her reputation to her advantage, she convinced the Great Khans to lend a hand at this time of need. Using their medical knowledge for the good of mankind, the Khans established a long lasting relationship with the Followers, helping Freeside become a better place.

The atmosphere is great, with all the shit tons of high level enemies and the military caches and ruins.
It would have been so much better if all the good high-end loot and weapons were tucked away in this place, kind of like how it was done in 1 and 2, with all the good shit in secret military bases.

Yes, it is a shame the trivial shit we see in Beth's Fallout games is literally THE SAME TRIVIAL SHIT FOUND EVERYWHERE IN THE GAME.

We don't find a family portrait. We don't find a baby's first hairs. We don't find a child's first fallen tooth. We don't find a collection of stamps.

We find the same shit we find everywhere in the wasteland, so "sentimental value" means nothing because the generic loot in Bethesda games is GENERIC.
>>

And?

You are aware there was this thing called the resource wars, that drained all of the worlds resources to the point everything because stupidly expensive?

Not to mention there was such massive rioting and civil unrest caused every major American city to be placed under martial law, with combat and power armor national guard guards shooting people indiscriminately.

Most people would not have been able to afford an actual gun, meaning they would had to resort to pipe weapons. And with martial law, and all the rioting, the military ad local police would have been confiscating pipe weapons in large numbers as they put down the civilian populace.

What you just said literally amounts to

No, which is why I didn't.... are you dyslexic anon? I point blank said they confiscated them from the public.

>And why would the public store their own weapons in fucking BANKS
Because people knew shit was going to go down, and its a good idea to have a weapon stashed in something like a safety deposit box in case shit does go down, and the military has already confiscated most weapons, meaning YOU will still have a gun while others do not.
>>
>>187718389

>What are you talking about?

About the really trivial shit people put in their personal safes either because it has sentimental value, or they are just weird collectors of shit.

A lot of homes in Fallout have no identity to them because they are full of generic loot. Even the ones that have some slight personality to them (take the house with the robot in Nipton) are still variations on a same generic "mechanic's house" trope.
>>
>>187718714
>A lot of homes in Fallout have no identity to them because they are full of generic loot.
Why else would they have anything but generic loot?

Are you actually so stupid to be suggestign that Bethesda should have created thousands of unique junk items just because a handful of autists can't grasp basic concepts like sentimental value object unless its shoved in their face?
>>

>>
>>187718843

No, I'm suggesting that being okay with random crap stuck in a safe is fucking stupid because "le sentimental value" falls apart the moment it's the same loot we see everywhere in the rest of the game.

It's shit loot, accept it, and the player souldn't be satisfied for whatever Bethesda tried to convey.
>>
I gotta ask, what drives people to this style of shitposting "debate" where they argue for things so blatantly wrong it's not even funny? like "end game area should have good loot" until they obfuscate it into this mess
>>
>>187719002
> because "le sentimental value" falls apart the moment it's the same loot we see everywhere in the rest of the game.
Again, why would it look any different to us?

The whole point of sentimental value is that the object is ordinary to anyone but the person who has the sentimental value to it!
>>
>>187718958
So the military confiscates pipe weapons and stores them unanimously alongside their own ammo and other weapons? That's great.

Also, why the fuck would banks be letting people store away their illegal weapons?
>>
I'm starting to think these opinions all belong to the same anons:

- FO3 and FO4 have better writing than FNV.
- The Institute makes perfect sense.
- Pipe weapons in old safes are perfectly okay.
- End game areas can do with crap loot.

And I know I'm missing another key opinion, but it just slipped away from me.
>>
>>187719070
>like "end game area should have good loot"
DESU, the whole concept of an "end game area" shouldn't be a thing outside of a linear RPG, or an MMORPG.
>>
>>187719270
But Fallout 4 does have a sort of linear progression, with southern areas being much tougher than areas in the north, especially with the case of the glowing sea.
>>
>>187719172
>Also, why the fuck would banks be letting people store away their illegal weapons?
Are you even trying at this point?

Have you not payed attention to literally any other part of the Fallout world where every single company on the face of the planet was doing ultra shady shit?
>>
>>187719147

>Again, why would it look any different to us?

gee, I don't know

perhaps because when something is stored in a safe because of sentimental value it is clearly different to the shit you see every single day?

To put it bluntly: imagine finding a bottle of Coca-Cola in a safe. Not just any bottle of Coca-Cola. The exact same Coca-Cola you can find on your nearest market today.

What sentimental value can it have? Just admit Bethesda filled safes and boxes with generic loot as opposed to going for the "sentimental value" crap.
>>

You are not wrong, but you aren't right either.

Linearity is justified because it implies "linear progression". But at the same time, suppose my RPG ends in a waste disposal area. Why should there be extremely good equipment there to find, other than to follow gaming conventions?

The point is that certain areas should have equipment fitting to them. I don't expect Shady Sands to have a lot of awesome weapons, but I do expect a heavily irradiated military base to have them.

Because that isn't realistic?

There is nothing arbitrarily more difficult about walking in the wilderness then there is in the city or vice versa.

"End game" areas are a holdover from the days of more linear RPGs like Baldur's Gate, where you only progressed to certain areas in a certain order, and thus, everything i nthe next map had to be stronger then everything in the previous map, because you got stronger by doing the previous map.

That isn't how it works in an open world RPG.

Crabs shouldn't be more powerful in one area of the map then they are in another, its a fucking crab either way.
>>
I mean, the whole idea of hiding your Pipe Guns IN A FUCKING SAFE is ridiculous.

You should keep that shit close to you at all times if things are going so badly. Hide it in a box behind your closet if anything, not in a damn safe.

>>187719648

Yeah, that wasn't a mistake. I was giving a real life example to illustrate my point: no one keeps extremely generic items in safes, precisely because the concept of "generic item" doesn't exist in real life.

In a videogame, nothing distinguishes this particular Nuka-Cola bottle from another Nuka-Coca bottle, and swinging the "sentimental value" argument around is a good reason for Bethesda to stop caring about good loot altogether.
>>
>>187719731
>The point is that certain areas should have equipment fitting to them. I don't expect Shady Sands to have a lot of awesome weapons, but I do expect a heavily irradiated military base to have them.
You would think the opposite really because Shady has the connection to the larger world, which would allow them to have access to many weapons and armor scavenged in military bases across California, while the chance of any one military base having a huge cache of highly advanced weapons/armor is actually pretty low.

True, but super mutants do not congregate around intrinsically better loot.

They tend to congrigate around radioactive areas, which are areas people don't tend to go, which in turn means super mutant camps should honestly have some of the worst loot offerings ever.

On the other hand, the significantly weaker raiders make their living by stealing everything of value they can from everyone around them, which suggests that they should have some of the better loot in the game.

You can have loot that lives up to the location and has narrative consistency. Like The Glow.

New Vegas is a major location, yet you don't really find "awesome" loot there in any way or form. You do find the Pulse Gun in Vault 34, which again makes sense from a narrative perspective and it's a pretty cool reward after the big ordeal you go through.

You said certain places being more dangerous than others isn't realistic. You literally said, and I quote:

"There is nothing arbitrarily more difficult about walking in the wilderness then there is in the city or vice versa."

You are implying the wilderness is EXACTLY the same as a city because you place them in a vacuum. Except they don't exist in a vacuum: "wilderness" can be anything from the woods, the savanna, a lakeshore, anything. Same with city.

No one ever said "every city is more safe than any wilderness". Only that some places are naturally more dangerous than others.

You moved the goalposts the moment you started discussing something no one was discussing.

The Glow was a one off an unique location that doesn't really make sense to replicate.

You have never been to the Gun Runner's stall have you? They sell all the best guns in the game there. It''s literally the go-to place to get weapons, even better then many of the unique weapons.

And it makes sense that they have them because its their job to make guns, and it makes sense they would have some of the best guns in the game since they are making new guns, instead of you having to use 200 year old ones.

This is why diseases like cancer aren't much of a problem post-war.

Also, rad-stroms aren't daily, or even weekly, unless you mod them.

If you go back and watch the original E3 video for Fallout, when they fast forward through the weapon modding part, you can see shit like a cryo/incendiary pistol as mods instead of legendary effects.

Maybe not all legendary effects were mods, but at least one of them were.

I suspect they axed that when it become too difficult to make a mod for every single weapon in the game for every single legendary effect.

DUST had some glaring problems, like infinite ammo npc is ok I guess, but then you give them guns with retarded fire rates like the makeshift minigun or smg combined with not running out of bullets and it's just bullshit, not to mention every grenade throw is satellite guided regardless of sightlines
FROST has the opposite problem, with no one having infinite ammo so their potato aim just blows it the second they see you and you're stuck either being full stealth or full melee a lot of the time
and while I appreciate DUST trying to add new guns a lot of them are ass ugly like the dust musket (but I'll be damned if I don't love beating dogs to death with a human femur)

Mods are shit

-Weapon/Armor mods are either babies first modeling job, or tacticool bullshit. The handful that aren't are ruined by modder giving them 10k textures that make them not fit into the rest of the game at all.

-Texture mods in general are fucked because no one redoes everything, meaning you end up with like 10 different art styles in the game if you try to retexture it.

-Settlement mods are fucked becuase they are nothing but bloatware that adds 10000 new items to the settlement system, 99% of which you wont use, and shouldn't even be there in the first place. All they do is bloat and already bloated system with more garbage. What makes it worse is that you need more mods on top of that in order to get all the settlements items to show up at one time.

-Companion mods are shit because they are even more of walking statues then Skyrim's companions, or have super Gary Stu/Mary Sue VA work and questlines.

-House mods are garbage because they are just giant castles or mansions randomly thrown into the side of cliffs with no regard to looks, or just random doors in cliff faces that go to some bizarre other dimension. These houses are either completely empty, meaning you have to have supreme autism to make them look finished, or everything is a static prop that can't be moved.

-Gameplay re-balancers are shit because people seem to think giving every perk 10000 ranks, and having all of those give shit for increases, = complexity, when, in reality, all that does is make leveling largely pointless.

-Most weather mods are nothing more then people adding some badly photoshopped effects for "new" weather, and turning up the rain to 100 times ore then it is in-game, and calling it a day.

As much as I thought fridge ghoul was dumb, people need to stop acting like it was some massive departure from the series, when it was pretty fucking tame compared to previous games..

Well that is sort of Obsidian's territory, and Avellone has said that when making New Vegas, Bethesda let them do whatever they wanted with the western United States.

I mean, as much backlash as they get for everything they do at this point, is it any real surprise they want to distance themselves from the western U.S.?

That isn't really an apt comparison when jet being pre-war is them explaining a writing error in Fallout 2, and Myron himself admitted that the chemicals itself was pre-war.

Even Avellone said people should like that jet was pre-war because of what jet is, aka cow shit.

Not to mention it was Bethesda who said the rest of the world is fucked, noting that immigrants from Europe such as Tenpenny and Moriarty exist to show that Europe is so fucked people come to America to live better lives.

The reasoning given was that the East coast is familiar to them because it's closer to home so they set there games there where the west coast is closer to Obsidian's home. Until further evidence is given that's the reason and anything else is pure speculation. Also backlash is mostly from the PC community which are shoddy customers at best since anyone can just nab that shit for free, consolefags and their opinions are the future for them, mark my words.

>>187732328
Actually, Bethesda has sad in the past one of the big reasons they set Fallout 3 on the east coast was because they wanted to avoid touching the past games in that sort of manner.

While them being on the east coast themselves, and thus, setting games on the east coast is easier for them, they have stated previously they do want to leave Fallout 1/2 alone, and not really mess with them.

He rediscovered an easy way to produce it, and make it more potent.

>>187733589
>the fuck does that even mean, it's a dumb retcon that was wholly unnecessary
Why is it dumb? The entire idea presented in Fallout 2 that cowshit was apparently so potent people were getting high off of it simply by being near it, but no one bothered to SELL it as a drug over over 160 years is even more dumb.

Saying that
>Corporations realized this cow shit was a great drug and sold it even before the war
Makes more sense then what Fallout 2 said happened.

>then why do people buy jet if free cowshit is as good?
Same reason Fallout 2 said cowshit was apparently so good of a drug people were getting high off of it simply by bearing near it, but no one bothered to try to sell it for over 160+ years.

They didn't think it through, like A LOT of shit in Fallout 1/s wasn't, ranging from ghouls to Vaults.

>somehow I don't think he's an authority on good writing

Not him, but this isn't true.

Tobar mentions he used to take his ferryboat all up and down the coast from the Commonwealth to the Broken Banks, which is over 500 miles south of The Commonwealth, on a regular basis, and besides a few mirelurks trying to chomp on the boat, it wasn't that difficult.

We see this also in Far Harbor, where a boat is easily programmed to take a 200+ miles trip safely, and while its a far off place, no one considered it that difficult of a thing to do.
>>

Talking about crossing the ocean is one of the scariest things in fallout. The ocean is scary enough now, imagine the radsharks and radwhales and stuff.

I can't even stand swimming to spectacle island, and I installed a vertibird mod for just that one crossing, so I can't imagine actually just puttering out into the ocean on some 200 year old tiny boat.

Its even more funny because Fallout 3 had a ghoul named Patchwork who was so badly decayed his limbs kept falling off, but the doc would sew him back up and expose him to raidation and it would heal the arm, and no one cared.

Hell, both Fallout 3 and NV showed ghouls being healed by the radiation bursts of glowing ones, and just natural ambient radiation, and no one cared.

But the moment a ghoul is kept alive via radiation in Fallout 4 its suddenly a sin.
>>

I honestly think they don't even play these games. Just come here to shitpost about the same non-issues and argue via wikia knowledge.

Presumably. If radiation is so powerful it can allow limbs to be reattached, as well as heal wounds, and even bring recently dead ghouls back to life, it should be able to keep a ghoul's body from dying due to starvation.

Not that they wouldn't be hungry, just that they wouldn't die from it.

>Bethesda fixed one of Black Isle's fuckups.
>fixed

Did they, though?

>Myron really did invent Jet. He's really, really smart and really, really annoying.

Those were literally Avellone's words. Now it is no longer the case. This is what Myron had to say about it:

>Before the Big One some meat companies were experimenting with a cheap protein extract for growing food, but they had to ditch it.
>The contaminated version acted like an amphetamine when ingested. Little side effect.
>When they first screwed up, they contaminated tons of that shit. And rather than ditch it, they fed it to their brahmin herds (read: COWS) to try and recoup their losses.
>See, we start experimenting with the brahmin shit as fertilizer for the shrooms, except get this; then, we noticed the slaves working fertilizer vats were getting high from the fumes…By putting tons of brahmin shit in the vats, we found out that the fumes give more than enough of a kick. Eureka. Literally. 'Course, we had to test to get the mix right… (note: on over a hundred slaves, all who died or suffered extreme psychological problems)

What did Bethesda fix, exactly? To me, it's pretty clear Jet is a product of the post-nuclear America: radiation doing its thing, Brahmin, and the shrooms. I'm not about to believe Brahmin milk tastes the same as cow milk, just like I don't expect Brahmin shit to be the same as cow shit. To me it is much easier to simply say

>Avellone: yes, I fucked up with the dates, sorry

And get it over with. Plus the whole "why didn't corporations produce the drug then" argument makes no sense. Who knows how many potential drugs are awaiting to be discovered.
>>
>>187739463
The fridge ghoul was stupid, but it's also like 0.00001% of the game.

Just because Avellone is okay with whatever Bethesda does afterwards doesn't make it any less of a retcon.

Vault experiments WERE a retcon as well, and it was Black Isle who did it, not Bethesda. They were a retcon that blended in with Fallout, but retcons nonetheless.

"I made a mistake" is nothing like "yes, I want to do things different now".

Avellone explained what the mistake was exactly: a matter of time. I say just accept it and stop it from happening in the future, just like the Ghouls and radiation.

Hes technically right though.

Game devs do not care about things like lore, or canon. Most every major game devs has said in one way or another that canon is something made up by the fans.

Even Obsidian have made comments of a similar nature.

^This also.

Almost every major series has some amount of bullshitium that they can use to handwave any changes such as

>Fallout 1: FEV makes super mutants. Even when exposed to pure human DNA, it just makes smarter super mutants.

>Fallout 2: FEV now KILLS mutants via air, despite nothing suggesting ti could do so in Fallout 1.

>Fallout 3: FEV now makes dumb mutants, regardless of how much radiation exposure, and can also kill people via water

>Fallout 4: FEV now makes synths when exposed to pure human DNA, but it can also make super utants when exposed to radiation corrupted DNA

FEV has literally done something different every single game, and they have had waved all these new changes via

It was never patched in the game, and it could have been fixed in Van Buren, except it was never released. Fallout 3 made mistakes of its own by implying Jet somehow made the move across the entire U.S., and New Vegas didn't introduce any Jet issues (that I'm aware of).

Yes, because while devs don't care about the lore, that doesn't change the fact that I still find things like lore and the concepts of canon to be interesting.

Why is that so hard for you to grasp anon? Do you really just think is such utterly one dimensional and black/white terms that any sort of nuance confuses you?

In Fallout 1, even when exposed to pure DNA from Vault Dwellers, FEV caused massive mutations into super mutants.

Like I said, from Swans experiment log.

Swan was apparently a dumb uneducated worker in the Institute, committed a crime and became a test subject. He became super intelligent for a short time then his intelligence rapidly decreased. Virgil seems to be undergoing a somewhat similar if less extreme process where he has retained his human intelligence and personality but he can feel himself becoming more aggressive over time.

I always thought that the FEV program was made at the same time as the robotic program as well as the now defunct cybernetics program. That back then the Institute started a bunch of different programs for making workers that would be able to survive and serve the Institute on the surface.
>>
>>187748468
This, holy shit.

The whole point of the synth program was to make smart workers that wouldn't get caught in the same programming loops pre-war robots did, like how Codsworth was stuck cleaning the house for 200 years because his program didn't let him despite how obviously futile it was.

The intelligence experiments were done to see how smart FEV could make synths.

The FEV program was made after the robotics program had hits its limit.

The cybernetic program was just some side shit one of the scientists was working on.

No, but we see it also with
-Curie, who couldn't leave the room she was in until she got confirmation from an authorized party because her programming didn't let her, despite the fact it was long after the war, and even she knew everyone who could have given her authorization was likely dead.

-The robots at GreyGarden, who have spent the last 200 years maintaining a farm despite the fact to one is alive to eat the food.

-Robots at military checkpoints, endlessly trying to maintain curfews despite the fact all that shit has been over for 200+ years.

Its pretty systemic across Fallout 3, New Vegas, and 4, that robots are stuck doing their pre-assigned jobs, even after they realized the job is pointless.

I thought Honest Hearts was decent. Not flawless by anymeans but it was a solid main quest and good story. Sure aspects were fetch-quest, but the gamespace was interesting and aesthetic to explore, and the companions were well-balanced with good perks and characterization for the area. Sandbox exploring rewarded you with argubly one of the best stories in the Fallout Universe (Randall Clark's journals), solid loot, and balanced difficulty.

Only real nitpicks with Honest Hearts are the shitty "tribal-innocence" narrative, the binary main quest choice near the end (which the ending slides will passive-aggressively berate you for making either choice), and the locations in the worldspace that are obvious miniboss spawn encounters (giant guai/cazador pop-in spots; these aren't bad in general but they are shoddily designed and triggered in HH). But all-in-all Honest Hearts is a solid expansion pack in my opinion, and probably my favorite of NV expansions.

>>187740135
I think eliminating the White Legs and letting Salt-Upon Wounds have a fair fight at the end is a good ending. Joshua doesn't go full tyrant of wrath, Zion is generally peaceful and the White Leg threat is dealt with. Only thing is the bullshit "innocence" of the Sorrows narrative, which is all contrived romanticised bullshit in the first place and should be disregarded.
>>187741186
If there is ever more than 3 humans in an area for any given time, there is gonna be some beef. The idea that the Sorrows were "innocent" and never had trouble was a stupid narrative to begin with, and the consequence of them having disagreements with future allies and neighbors would happen inevitably anyway. The threat of the White Legs is a much more pressing concern to the Sorrows to deal with.

I don't know many enemies, besides possibly deathclaws, that can survive more than 2 rocket hits. And if you get Partystarter or a double shot rocket that just makes it even more ridiculous.

>Rocket launchers are fucking OP in this game anon

The thing is Bethesda is terrible at game balance.

In real life people don't carry rocket launchers everywhere around because that shit isn't practical. That's why I've always thought that rocket launchers and miniguns should be handplaced items in the world which you aren't meant to carry everywhere around. They would pretty much function as "special" items you can only use for a short amount of time to clear a place or something.

Eh, but you could use them in every game.

Also why couldn't a 10STR character pick one up and fire it, or carry it around everywhere? Real life RPGs look pretty thin to me. I wonder more how the SS can pick up a minigun because a minigun of that size with a full drum of ammo would weigh like a hundred pounds. Unless its made of space age materials. And yes I know miniguns that humans can wield exist, but the minigun in Fo4 is modeled after shit that is mounted on vehicles.

>In real life people don't carry rocket launchers everywhere around because that shit isn't practical.
Also not really, but the real life version is a bit lighter. And I can see power armor being able to wield a rocket launcher pretty easily.

Sometimes real life is the best source of balance.

I personally do not like the idea of needed tons of rockets to kill a damn Deathclaw. Two sound just fine by me.

>Also why couldn't a 10STR character pick one up and fire it, or carry it around everywhere?

It's not a matter of being strong enough to pick it up, but having enough stamina to carry it everywhere with you. And FNV's minigun and rocket launcher at least aren't small at all. Not to mention you aren't expected to carry a minigun everywhere in real life unless you have it on your hands at all times.

Power Armor is a whole different matter, maybe there could be a way to "attach" the minigun to the back of the armor to take it with you everywhere.

Here's a nice nugget for you all.

All mods on the CC are in .esl format.
.els files have a hardcoded limit of 400 records.
For reference Horse Power Armor is 300, while Automatron is 50000.

Basically, because they're all going to using .esls so as not to contribute the 355 plug-in limit, no mod on the CC can every be anything but the smallest most disposable piece of microtransaction bullshit.

'Mini-DLCs' fundamentally cannot exist in the CC.
Our resident shill Trainwiz was likely aware of this, but said nothing.
>>

Difference between an rpg and a missile launcher, RPGs can be carried by pretty much every man in a team, a missile launcher and its missiles are a "one per unit, spread the load out" kind of deal unless you have a walking god on your team.

The minigun should be pretty much power armor only or a static emplacement, imo.

It makes sense though in order to prevent lots of shitty mods from cluttering up the plugin order.

I try to merge as many mods as I logically can in my guide. Just yesterday I merged six JSawyer Ultimate patches into a single .esp, and they aren't anywhere near 4,000 records.

By the way, it is 4,000 records, not "400".

You the anon that was plugging FOnline a few threads ago? I downloaded the client, I'm still on the fence about playing; I was looking through the wiki and a few guides to not be a total newbie, and looking at the world map sort of annoyed me and I don't know if I could play it. It doesn't look that bad, but I'm not a fan of Fallout's map especially (I like it in-game). The classic maps just don't fit with NV at all, and they have a lot of discrepencies between placement/scale for game design reasons, and their real-life counterparts.

For example, is The Hub on the ruins of Barstow? It's obviously at a pre-war town, because that's what Oldtown was, there was some text about it maybe being there, but the map itself it isn't close. Necropolis is really bad, it's mentioned different times to be Bakersfield, but it's location makes it Barstow if anything. Don't get me started on where the fuck Shady Sands or NCR is (I prefer the FO2 slight move for it myself, but think it should be a bit more westerly).

Anyway, goes back to it's hard to reconcile with NV especially; I can't wrap my head around how a nation that is founded, from going purely from FO1's map, the capital city is basically in western Nevada, and they never had any reliable establishment or contact with Vegas, the Hoover Dam, or the Colorado River basin until the 2250s or later.

Just in general my autism can't process the FOnline world map with the general lore, especially FONV. I'm not sure if that would harm my enjoyment of it or not, but it's been enough to make me balk at installing FOnline despite downloading it and having FO2.

We've already established you are a shitposter, yet you keep doing it.

>>187765094

Nope, I was just drawing a parallel. Having lots of plugins isn't very nice, so I commend Bethesda for their decision to use .esl files for the most pointless mods (IF that turns out to be the case).
>>
>>187765364
I'd hope it'd be on the same level or even better, but we'll have to wait and see. What I've seen so far doesn't inspire much faith.

I was 10 as well. It was 1996.

It technically wasn't an arcade, but an arcade machine at the local supermarket that had it for reasons I'm not sure. They got rid of it later.

>>187764320

I thought it was pretty good for the price, then again I had the pass. I dunno if I'd consider any of the workshop DLCs worth their respective prices after the fact. Even combined.

Automatron had, what, 4 new weapons in it? Handy saw, Assaultron blade, Assaultron head gun, two new dungeons, and an ass ton of robot parts and robot customization. I actually liked it more than Far Harbor desu.

>All mods on the CC are in .esl format.

This post is literally extrapolating from the current bullshit mods on CC to suggest that .esl is the only format that will ever be used on CC.

Who the fuck falls for this?

.esl files exist and are being used by bethesda for small pointless mods.

>I thought it was pretty good for the price, then again I had the pass. I dunno if I'd consider any of the workshop DLCs worth their respective prices after the fact. Even combined.
I'd probably pay for the Workshop DLCs, but only combined. Automatron was what, $20? Worth it, I'd say. Even after the DLC has ended, you have an entirely new gameplay mechanic that allows for custom companions. Bretty gud.
>>
>>187766202
To tell the truth, given how much the vehicle mods for FO4 have struggled, what are the chances that thing didn't actually work?
>>
>>187766586
Automatron was $10
Far Harbor was $20
>>
>>187766372

Not that. Proof that .esl files are used for small pointless mods, but .esp files will be used for the bigger mods like "mini-DLC" mods.

Then again, I see how I may have not got my comment across in the first place.

>>
>>187766712
Oh right, well we won't know that until the CC gets a mod big enough to require something more than a single .esl
>>
>>187766712
because esls are like 4000 keywords.forms or some shit. basically good for weapon and armor mods.

there were dual arm mounted power armor miniguns as well

it pisses me off the developers don't seem to have any interest in sharing information on how to do this stuff ourselves so that the game has increased longevity and then theyre too retarded to sell it themselves

like I would actually pay for a working duel wield mod or a mod that ports over whatever system/animationed is used to cast magic in skyrim so that we could have psykers because those are the kind of mods that become platforms unto themself that other people can BUILD off of

fuck fuck fuck why is the documentation for the CK such SHIT

>fuck fuck fuck why is the documentation for the CK such SHIT

It's the same answer for all of your frustrations... The people who can make this shit in Beth aren't being paid to communicate how they do it. If you think about it the CC is actually going to facilitate keeping back information or technical shit we can use.

When you look at this in terms of Beth's attitude to it's IP and perceptions of its value as a company this makes sense, and it also makes sense that they means it when over the years they've said "Holy crap the modders for our games are amazing!" because they have done so very little to assist. I'm not even saying they necessarily should because holy hell that would be a double edged sword these days, but I think it's a useful way to see things.

who's lore are we going by? Which ghouls? The sentients or the ferals?

How the ferals are still around after 200 years means they only need water once every 200 years, apparently, if that's the case. The Kid in a Fridge quest had a sentient literally trapped without food, water, and possibly air for god knows how long.

The "old" (non Bethesda) lore that was to be implemented also stated some very weird shit. One of them was that a ghoul's life processes are so altered that very few drugs actually effect them, if any, and an entire area was built around a drug called "Smooch," which actually could effect ghouls.

There's a lot of unexplained and weird shit that Bethesda halfway nigger rigged just to include as a thing that existed in their fanfiction version. Another example is that a bunker full of FEV got cracked open when the bombs fell and spread into the atmosphere- that's why there are giant versions of animals everywhere, which are immune to the radiation. Bethesda's variant? "Lol radiation is different here." Harold was another FEV mutation, (admitted by the creators), as he was exposed with the Master. There were hints that ghouls, too, were mutations caused by the released strain of FEV, while the contained strain was the super mutant version.

TL;DR- Bethesda makes fanfiction campaigns, people accept it as canon because they bought the IP.

>Because it's Bethesda QA and they can't be expected to catch anything
Fixed that for you. Autocorrect is a bitch, right?
>>
>>187768497
Just because they buy the IP doesn't make it right. Imagine the anger if Disney altered even the slightest thing about the original trilogy films.
