I've heard that the N3DSXL is dogshit because it stretches the resolution to fit the bigger screen and thus makes both DS and 3DS games (specially DS games) look even worse, is this true? And if it's true is it still worth buying if i can't find a normal sized N3DS? I want to get one and a flashcard for all those free 3DS/DS/GBA/SNES games and i've looked everywhere for a normal N3DS but all i can find are N3DSXL and O3DS, not even pawnshops have it.

We've gone over this a few times but due to someone who can't let it lie, it's probably worth mentioning again.
Yes, O3DS and N3DS can run GBA at full speed via injections. N3DS also has a few emulators that can almost kind of run GBA okay.
NES and SNES run fine with retroarch cores, I use FCEUmm and SNES9X 2005, though I believe there are better emulators now.
Using a flashcart is a viable solution for DS games, running them pretty much natively.

I generally do the rounds between /hbg/, /emugen/ and /vr/'s ROMhacking general, and each one has a handful of really nice people who just want everyone to have fun playing videogames. Price, popularity and accessability make the 3DS the current hotness in /hbg/, and to complain about that is counterproductive. Is the vita worth getting for CFW? Has there been any third part memory cards that work with micro SD or is it still the overpriced proprietary cards that work? I got a couple of psp 1000s a year ago for emulating psx games but they suddenly die even when plugged in, could never find the cause but I think the batteries drained too fast from age and the chargers would get lose and stop powering it.

The only difference is that SDHC allows non FAT-32 formatting to have larger files than 4 gb. Get SD formatter, format to FAT-32 and you should still be able to use it but with more storage. Alternatively you can just buy a cheap shitty sd card online for a few bucks at most.

Hey /hbg/, I have a few arm9 hacked 3ds that I tried to update to 11.5. I tried my o3ds XL and my n3DS. My n3DS took the update just fine, but it was hacked several months after my o3ds and had newer versions of Luma and such installed.

My o3ds, on the other hand, now won't boot, the power light will come on, but the screens remain dark. I can boot to the luma configuration menu (ver 5.5) and the Hourglass9 menu (v1.10), so it isn't entirely bricked, but I can't really use it for anything.

Is there an easy way to fix this? Ideally without reloading my stock NAND and starting over.

I flashed a R4i gold successfully.
When I put it in my N2DSXL it says there is no game in the slot. (Which I assume it's supposed to do)

Hello, I downloaded the EU dlc for TMS #FE using Uwizard and I plan to play it using the modded loadiine.
I downloaded the files and decrypted them (?) using the game's ticket.
I have a couple questions, because they're not working.
1. Should I have decrypted them in the first place? The DLC didn't have a .tik file so I used the game's .tik.
2. How do I figure out the name of the folder I need to use? The titleID doesn't seem to be it.

Keep in mind the game by itself is working fine, so the rest of the folder structure is ok, I'm just having trouble with the DLC. I know loadiine may not be the best method, I wanna play this game out and then mess with other hacking methods.

I tried to install CitraAGB, i have the cfw, the bios and game config txt but when i start the app i get the error 3ds needs to restart message.
