Hey guys, not X-Com but I figured people here would know.

After about 8 years I've started playing Jagged Alliance 1.13 again and it is kicking my ass. I don't remember it being this difficult. I keep trying different combinations of mercs and getting my ass kicked about halfway through Drassen. On my last attempt I disabled New CTH and was doing a little bit better, and tried going in to the middle tile of Drassen at night with militia backup, but the soldiers threw a flare at me and then mortared me, killing Ira and my Imp instantly. I'm only playing on Experienced difficulty level. Has the difficulty in 1.13 been ramped up since 8 years ago or something? I don't see how you're supposed to be able to deal with so many soldiers unless you rent a squad of top mercs for 1 day.

Things like this will happen way less with Target Preview. I know that Gotcha again was also really good about this. Never doubt what it tells you. It's also kind of hacky in a way, since it can tell you LOS from enemies as well. Means you can avoid triggering overwatch.

just make sure the path your soldier takes dont trigger the indicator at any point and you are set
even easier with waypoints since you can dictate the path tile by tile
to me gotcha just simplifies the whole process

Jake Solomon? What fitting last name for the architect of the biblical failure that bore of the chosen is going to be when it releases in a day. Of course they say that this "expansion pack" is going to have so many features it will be a stepping stone for XCOM 3, but in reality it is a thinly veiled mask at what will surely be a light patch at most, and will likely further break this garbage more than it already is. I guess you could realistically say Chore Of The Chosen will be a mini XCOM 3, as the third game of this mediocre series will be just as disappointingly bland as this shitspansion will turn out to be.

We literally had this discussion in the last thread, just buy the reinforcement pack, turn off the Anarchy children cosmetics if you don't like them, try fighting the Alien rulers when you hit t2 and if you don't like it ignore the mission in later campagins.

Right now the reinforcement pack has the exact same cost as Shen's last gift, there is no reason to not grab the other two for free via the reinforcement pack.
