It's complete garbage. 500 bonus damage on stealth shot is far more useful since it adds more burst damage than debilitate on any target below 5k health and even if you attack 5k+ hp target like nando or ash with hp cards you only would get like 20-30 damage more.

I've really wanted to see a frontline oriented towards debuffs, with the idea being that he protects friendlies by making enemies shit.

So while Surprise Attack DOES contribute to more burst damage versus very squishy targets, the difference, at its greatest and most dis-favorable, is 275 points of damage. Debilitate deals a minimum of 720 to any target over 2 seconds, I'd call that more than comparable last hitting. As for the 100% accuracy, the actual basic attacks don't contribute to the damage comparison, since all that matters is if you land your three poison bolts (Debilitate) or your first shot from stealth (Surprise). If you can't manage to do either of those things while using the respective cards, you should uninstall.

You burst shit regardless of which card you use, but Debilitate has massively increased uptime and also allows you to burst down tanks faster than practically any other character in the game. Sneak Attack = three activations max, within 11 seconds, one of which is outside of your control and all of which require different cooldowns to be used. Debilitate = three activations max within 12 seconds, all based on one 4s CD that you only use for damage.
I don't know why you're arguing this so adamantly when Debilitate is simply better in a wider variety of situations, while not compromising burst potential.

If double tank/ double damage (Blaster and Hitscan)/ support is the current most popular meta, then isn't that just a fair and balanced composition?

So, I've been spamming Strix a whole lot, to the point where my match history is pretty much Strix only. I've won almost every single match I've been on him, with great KDA and usually being the top damage for the match. Here's what I learned about him:

- Illuminate flanks are the bane of your existence. You should save your Flashbang for them. You recharge your ultimate fast enough where you can use flashbangs on flanks as needed. If the flanks don't get Illuminate, you get way harder to stop.

- If you survive the initial flank flurry (flashbang, hearing steps, spotting them coming for you...), you have a legit chance of killing them if you hit a single sniper shot. Learn how to turn fast, and be accurate with the pistol. If they pack Illuminate, they'll be soft to the shots and you can usually kill them with one sniper shot into pistol. If you force Reversal/Counter, you are still fine since you'll know where they are.

- Use stealth to take multiple shots from the same angle. If you are using the stealth reset card (you should), you won't be running out of stealth for multikills.

- Learn the maps, you have no escapes so you need to know where you can possibly run towards, and all the angles you can take to keep yourself unpredictable. Stealth helps getting from A to B without being spotted. Even vs flanks, if you are on high ground and can either drop down or run horizontal with stealth, that should confuse them enough for you to reposition.

- All his legendaries are good. Sidearm one is good vs flanks and in short maps, the extra damage guarantees 2shots vs early Haven, and the stealth one allows for greedier plays (it's the weakest of the three, but not bad).

- Abuse high ground. Way worse than any flank is having a Nando or Ash on you.

- Veteran is cheaper than the other sustain cards, but you lose DPS by staying out of combat. You can easily do so with stealth though.

On the topic of flanks - Yesterday's ESL saw Flashpoint sweeping a Bo3 to win the series with Buck/Solotanking Torvald. So there could still be some hope for flanks. The final game was (Nandos Cassie Damba Barik Ash) vs (Sha Lin Buck Bomb King Torvald) on frog isle, ending in a 4-0 for Buck's team.

Lex and Evie also got ran yesterday, along with Ying Heals. So Flankers aren't irrelevant yet.

The most annoying flank I had to face was an Andro that was Reversal-ing my Flashbangs (or after them). I reckon he is the best choice if you didn't need to use the Nether Step so you still have that burst of mobility that makes it harder to hit the sniper shots. Plus, he kills quite fast. Zhin is also good for the counters and Billow, but he takes way too long to kill a Strix. He's a distraction but not particularly good at killing the guy. Skye you ABSOLUTELY have to kill within your poison bolts+full clip, if you can do so Strix won't react in time, else he will probably win with how squishy Skye is. Lex has a hard time since he can get flashed so easily and doesn't have the anti-Flashbang tools nor a way to reach Strix without making noise. Evie is also not that good since it takes some 3 shots to kill a Strix and that's enough time for Strix to kill, and Ice Block is not particularly great since Strix can stealth and shoot her as soon as she leaves Ice Block. Pip, Buck and Maeve can't dash fast and have no ways to stop the Flashbang, so if your tracking aim is good, you should be able to hit them even through their movement skills.

So Andro and Skye for killing, and Zhin and Evie for keeping him busy.

Yeah, I'm posting insane numbers with him even in losing matches so I know his potential, but yeah I always face Strix in the enemy team and those couldn't kill a Kinessa if they wanted to. I've found 2 other competent Strixes out of some ~20 matches I've played, and they went top damage for their team.

Not that I dislike it, it's certainly important to have your foolproof Lians but also your Strixes to let great players really express their terrain knowledge, tracking abilities and overall skill.
