I feel like crossbows were OP. The 50% armor reduction was ridiculous, especially when an arrow would arguably ignore as much or at least a good amount. They also botched it by making crossbows just as effective at long ranges as bows, but that's an "engine limitation." I would have also preferred if reloading could be interrupted, but again, having such a variable weapon state (unloaded), would have been too difficult to implement, apparently. I also wish they had made an even weaker/smaller crossbow that could be used one handed.

I like both a lot but most RPGs don't pull off the crossbow look very well. If I had my way I would go crossbow because I think it fits the warrior/fighter archetype character better than a bow and that's usually the kind of character i play and like.

Cross bow doesn't take as much training to use and is extremely effective. Doesn't make sense to me that somebody practicing their sword and melee combat skills for their whole life would also be a master of the bow. I also like the idea of being able to easily and quickly snap off a bolt in the middle of some action and get back to the melee instead of having to take out your bow, draw, and fire it continuiously.

..Is the ordinator damage boost for getting timed blocks also applying to spell/magic staff damage? I think it is. It's kind of hard to tell without visible numbers, but I just wrecked a Bandit chief's shit who completely shrugged off the first blast of my staff.

I thought this shield + staff build would be too gimmicky to be viable, but this is actually working better than I dreamed.

Are you just using the vanilla skin color shades for your Dunmer? Sometimes you got to get away from that and play around with the colors between the teals to blues and play with different levels of saturation. The vanilla colors weren't meant for the high quality textures we use and diffuse maps with coloration. CloneMer has really desaturated diffuse maps and it's good for Dunmer that are a bit more pale than my character.

Also, different ENBs affect the textures differently, resulting in different colors. I found that when I changed ENBs the last time, since the ENB was more colorful I had to desaturate a little more.

With some textures and without desaturating the diffuse maps, it's really hard to find any colors that work for Dunmer. I tried Demonica for a bit on one of my characters and she'd look fine one minute and the next she would be purple.

I've been meaning to check out those textures. It would probably just end with me justifying making yet another Dunmer.

I'll admit the latest one isn't Nim's best character, but a lot of the reason for that is that she's experimenting with new assets and trying to expand her boundaries. I had similar phases where I tried to use the Citrus head for my characters and it turned them into weird blobs. Trying new stuff can be weird, but I still think the character is cute.

Nosebridge has color corruption, the texture pattern right next to the nostrils is very pixelated, and the texture to the right of the eyebags is also pixelated. almost looks like someone cut together different low res textures and then upscaled them.

Okay which one of you fucks told me to play through Oblivion as a mage? My offensive spells do jack shit against pretty much everything and constantly juggling support spells is a pain in the ass. Not to mention if anything gets within melee range I am fucked. What in the fuck am I doing wrong?

Watched the entire Flash tv show so I could get ideas for my speed powers mod (and it was entertaining) and the only thing I could use is the throw lightning ability. Can't replicate twirling wind arms. Running around to make a tornado will look like shit since you have to spin the mouse like an autist. Moving through time won't look right.
Outside of the obvious stuff, there's nothing more for me to add. The only other thing I can think of is a shieldless shield charge ability. Anyone have ideas of their own to share?

Make sure you either coupled a magic specialization with a race that has a destruction/conjuration buff or couple it with making them major skills, or all three. Make sure you're getting +5 boosts to three attributes each time you level. You should also make sure one of them is endurance to max your health. Also, because Oblivion levels with your character, you should avoid leveling unless it will actually make you more powerful. Ideally for a mage I'd say you should attempt to level your main attack school (destruction or conjuration) ten times per level, a school governed by the other magic attribute ten times (or a combination of them), and heavy armor ten times. You'll need to make sure ten of these levels occur in major skills. That'll give you a really good head start.

But I really don't know how you fucked it up. This how to maximize your power. Doing well boils down to not over-leveling without boosts in skills and attributes that deal damage.

The thing that fucks people over is that enemies get harder when your character level increases, and that happens whenever your main skills increase, regardless of whether they will actually make you stronger. Probably the biggest reason leveled enemies were an awful decision in TES. When I was like 13 I had a play through where I got to like level 20 without doing much combat by grinding/using skills that neither dealt nor reduced damage and and then shifted to focus to fighting things. It was a fucking nightmare, and my older brother had to explain to me I fucked myself by going to level 20.

I've been going with health damage to prevent spamming. Since it's a set amount the player will eventually start to get better at the power and be able to use the them more often. I've tested some of the powers during a playthrough and it works well.
Haven't seen the movie but I think I can make it happen with high crit % to replicate a well placed punch.
I could have 3 tiers each with a specialization.
Tier 1 would be what you mentioned, good for 1v1
Tier 2 allows the player to move faster but takes more health and doesn't get a crit bonus. Good for crowd control.
Tier 3 is much slower but can only be used once a day.
What do you think?

yeah its style definitely fits more to a high elf/elven weapon style than dark elf. Only thing evoking 'ebony' is the color of the handle and sheath.Guess it could work for a fancy rich dunmer noble warrior who paid a pretty coin to high elf blacksmith/artisan.

So I am trying to beat a higher level NPC in sword combat.

He can pretty much 1 shot me with a power attack.

I thought this was an opportunity to "git gud" however while I can avoid most of his stuff and do enough damage I noticed that some of his normal (not power) attacks are virtually impossible to bash-interrupt on time, I can see the initial frames of his attack animation, I immediately bash but I still receive full damage.

Is this working as intended?

tldr: are you supposed to be able to interrupt consistently all regular NPC normal attacks or I am having a bug/fps/whatever issue

If his swing speed is faster than x1.3 he might actually be hitting twice on a power attack, once as soon as the animation starts, and once when the attack properly connects.

What do you guys think about that Vilja follower mod i've been hearing mixed things about it.
Some say it amazing some say crap....
