Proportions, to start with. It may just be the perspective, but the one on the HM cover appears much narrower, except for the wings, which appear much larger than the base design. Coloration is obviously a bit off on the inner part. The lower section of it also appears segmented in parts that slope upwards, which isn't quite how it's segmented on the original design

But the biggest differences are on that torso area. Original design has arcing ridges on the torso, both curving inward and down towards the tentacle abdomen thing. It also has triangular black claw-like appendages pointing upwards on both sides. The torso of the one on the HM cover appears a bit more standard, sloping downward from the head in two parts meeting at a little armor plate

It's probably all just a bit of a mix up between the character designers and the concept artists, but it's still interesting to note.

I mean RustTyrannomon is capable of leveling worlds now, and managed to get brainwashed by something. Meicoomons quest implies that there is some interdimensional syndicate that created her/her infection, and is holding her tamer (Meiko?) hostage, and wants to fuck shit up majorly. All the SGDL are apparently refugees in the N0 digital world because their world was fucked up by the malevolent fist, who eventually becomes BoltBoutamon. Lets recap a formless programm wrecked the equivalent of hell so hard that the most powerful demon lords straight up fled. Hell LUCEMON HIMSELF even states at the end of the quest that they are lucky he retreated, or he would have mopped the floor with him, Omega Alter-B, Beelzemon and the player. All of this on top of Angelmans ghost who apparently escaped his infinite calculation trap from card battle, and can now openly posess people. N0 is actually pretty horrifying when you think about it.

One of my favorite parts of the Digimon anime is that humans aren't immune to the fights. Digimon try to actively murder the children, and they get hit, burned, electrocuted, drowned, almost shot with a fucking revolver, and all kinds of other shit. They were actually involved and at risk.

Do you think we're going to get more lore about the Eaters in Hacker's Memory? I was watching and reading Twin Peaks the Return and The Secret of Twin Peaks lately and it basically implies the same thing, that the spirits in Twin Peaks are what people saw as UFOs, angels, and other mythological spirits like Native American spirits that just looked different depending on who perceived it. I think there were book about this theory in real life too.

And I remembered that's what I loved about the ending chapter when Kyoko hints the exact same applied to the eaters. There's something really cool about how humans encountered AI based on mythological creatures and even folklore like yetis and UFOs, while the Eaters which are lovecraftian elder god type inter-dimensional things that appeared as UFO sightings and yetis and shit too.

The interdimensional/parallel universe/etc. lore you posted about is pretty crazy too. I didn't even know about most of this since I didn't get very far in post game content. I hope we get more of that as well.
