Good day /simg/,

I have a question.
Today my new wheel arrived, a Logitech G29. I just wanted to step up from controller.
Now I set it up for Assetto Corsa all accordingly to the various tutorials on the internet and at least the input lag isn't there. The wheel on the screen moves like my own.
However, two issues have arosen:

1. The braking pedal feels like shit. I have to push harder than I ever had to push in my own car to bring it to 100%. I have read about removing that piece of rubber, but won't it get too light then? Or does anybody have an idea how to simulate the high resistance when stepping really hard on a braking pedal? I thought of instead of just removing the rubber block, I could replace it with foam or something. Also, as the other one suggested, messing with brake sensitivity doesn't work in this case for a satisfying solution. It would just decrease the way the pedal can travel.

2. How strong does the ffb have to be? I have ffbclip installed and it regularly sets the ffb so that I barely can turn the wheel. Is it because racing cars don't have servos or is it just too strong? When I set the gain to 50% in the options and leave ffbclip at 100%, it feels almost like my own car.

In all seriousness, someone suggested that to me and that was how I got my first perfect landing.
But the trick is, when you flare your nose and touch down for the first time, APPLY EXTRA ROTATION to keep the nosegear from smacking downward. Because of this, do NOT flare more than five degrees, and try not to make a three-point landing, as you WILL bounce if you do.

That was a serious problem I was having, and it was resulting in me bouncing down the runway. You absolutely NEED to have at least 340 kph, no more, no less, and you cannot cut the throttle until your front gear has touched the runway. Not before, until. If you have less than 340KPH, you will come down too hard and damage the gear. If you have more, you will bounce and fly back off the runway.

Also what >>184761181 said, fly it onto the runway. Pretend you're not actually landing, but are instead making a very shallow touch-and-go.

I used to practice every day. At first I could only get 1/10 landings with no damage. Soon I was 6/10 landings, and then every landing. After that, learn to use the SAU approach hold, because it is helpful in getting everything lined up the way it should be. Don't rely on it, because not every airport supports it.

It's ED's engines fault and a shit load of people have complained about it. Fucking things appear at walking speeds and for most planes but Viggen canards are a joke with them.

So how shitty is actually being a pilot? I'm considering becoming one and the way I see it is it's better to take shit whilst in the air than taking shit in the food industry or some menial desk job. Although the problem is that it might not be enough financially to be just a pilot?
