Here is a review of ascension wow

Ascension wow begins as a decent fun server that tries new things that few servers have
tried. The classless nature and gear drops on death are a really great addition to the
game on paper but in practice they do not provide a constructive game play experience.

When I started playing on the server I enjoyed the moderate leveling rate and the freedom
to pick any skill I wanted as I leveled. I got to level 20 without much issue and decided
to head over to Redridge to continue leveling.

Within 20 minutes of me arriving at Redridge I was killed by two players and lost a few
items. I decided to come back and try again. I managed to start doing quests again and
within a few minutes I was killed again, this time by a level 54. I came back and tried
to start my quests again....again I was killed by another stealth player. I lost half of
my items within 2 hours of arriving at a Redridge.

Here are my issues with the game: players are not punished for player killing, instead
they are rewarded with gear. Due to the excessive world PVP it is very hard to do
anything in the game unless you are escorted around by two or three people, You progress
very slowly and the 3x feels more like 0.3x since you are constantly pvping with everyone.

The server gives you zero reason to allow another player to live, you are a walking
dungeon boss that dies instantly and drops 3 items each time. If you don't kill other
players, the other players will kill you.

I would not recommend playing on this server unless you are old school, dedicated,
competitive, hardcore, [insert buzzword here].

Yeah the leashing is fucked. You can pull a group of any number of mobs and slow back up hitting one of them to keep them aggroed and the rest of the group will just run back.

Server does seem pretty good. Aggro ranges and leashes seem pretty screwy right now, but other than that it is nice. Not very far obviously.

Gonna play this for awhile. It does suck there aren't many people playing right now. But my main goal was just to play through BC with RL friends, so meh. Hopefully it gets a little more populated as word spreads about it.

If you play smart you can avoid dying. get stealth early, and aspect of the cheetah for stealth. avoid towns as much as possible and when you do have to go in one be wary of someone following you in stealth always. Pick your spells so you can counter feral druids because they're everywhere because people are unoriginal and copy youtuber builds. And choose wise zones to level in. STV might not be as smart as alterac/hillsbrad/hinterlands etc. in terms of getting ganked (unless you want that sort of stuff). FFXI is basically the only good MMO on the market right now, perfect horizontal progression, can upgrade all your artifact armor to be max level gear, small team that isn't releasing expansions anymore and just releasing content in small bursts, but never going to up the level cap again or bring in stat inflation, game still has all its original content etc

nice summation brainlet. i got to 20-50 on ally side without leveling in RR, duskwood, wetlands, and STV.

The real problem with the server is that none of the stock bugs are fixed. Blink is still in its 2010-tier state. Hawk Eye only works for abilities and not auto shoot. Pathing is so bad its funny. I could go on, but this point is well established already.

WotLK as an expansion has no low level spell balancing, they focused much more attention on endgame. A regular wrath server can have lvl 60 twinks 10-man MC. With how much DPS certain builds do, even if the raids are perfectly scripted they will be a faceroll. Look at PrimalWoW, legit mouthbreathers could clear naxx with like 20 people or less. You won't need gear to go directly to MC, and this will keep people from farming in the world. They can just sit in SW, do the occasional BG, or raidlog (which the server is already seeing in the first week of its release).

3x dramatically reduces the time people will spend in the overworld. this destroys the very aspect of the server, the world pvp. With 3x I could do all the less efficient, less populated zones with ease. I got into about 6 fights from 20-50, lost gear 2 times. Basically, 3x spreads people out and reduces the longevity of the server.

The final nail in the coffin for me is the staff selling things that effect gameplay (100% mounts). Now people can run from me much easier, and now people dont have to SPENT TIME IN THE WORLD FARMING ON THE WORLD PVP SERVER to get a mount. I also think they are just going to add more and more into the cash shop to bleed out the retards buying this shit.

It was a fun few days playing, but the server is going to die quick. I'm making alt ganking builds to get more fun out of it, but the server is going to be a ghost town 2 weeks from now.

In retail Legion pushed the game in the right direction, but still not enough and contains WoD's plague, yet I still think there is some kind of hope in it, since these private servers ALWAYS end up as disappointment. What I'm saying is legion pushed the game into a right track. And thats where its good point ends. The game is still mobage, carrying WoD's taint, and instead of removing the said bullcrap they just rework it. If I put some sugar on a dogshit it'll still be dogshit. Legion is shit overall, but it has a VERY little fire inside in it what I have seen nowhere since cata, like the very early cata, which we all know how it ended. At the end it still doesn't worth to play on, and that "you tried" star doesn't really worth anything.
Shit like Gummy is much more worse when your expectation is high, everythign looks good until the very damn moment, and you get a slap to the face.

Is northcraft as stock as it appears? I haven't kept up so I'm not sure which memes are memes anymore.
Was hopeful for gummy but hadn't given in to hype, unfortunately wasn't totally surprised it went down but was way faster than I expected. My plan was to wait until the early hype reduced anyhow so I guess i dodged that.
Crestfall (ignoring the drama off and on) seems like it's on track for 2020 so I guess there is that.

Greetings from the bean server! I love this cave for testing purposes because the warlock mobs are great indicators of scripting quality overall. On warmane the casters do too much damage and so do their minions, but the minions have terrible pathing and rubberband back to the caster. Here on wowaura there are different problems.
1. Attacking the caster will not put the voidwalker in combat, you need to get close enough to get proximity aggro.
2. There are no rubberbanding issues, but the voidwalker doesn't attack you once it reaches you. Maybe they didn't script in an attack because they copy/pasted off imp behavior or something else I don't know.
3. The caster's shadowbolt hits me for 13, which seems low but the voidwalker isn't attacking me so it might actually be correct.

In any case the beaners actually seem to be fixing things, I'll see if I can get this to their attention.
