Like I said, I have pretty much no complaints about the game and personally love it. The music and atmospheric sounds are wonderful. The bosses are usually tough and the cut scenes when you get them are really cool and well done. The final boss took me multiple efforts and really needed preparing for which was great. Steamrolling through games generally isn't nearly as satisfying. I just adore the overall atmosphere and styling of Oreshika.

My problem with Tainted Bloodlines was that everything was on a fucking timer and it passed during fights plus the cost of mating was going up so I was worried i was going to be sent into a failure state of not being able to have any kids

That honestly never bothered me. Guess I like having multiple time management type things to juggle. In the later game the dungeons side of it got a lot easier once I figured out where to farm the right items for increasing dungeon time and rare item spawning.

The second I got my hands on the demo it didn't feel right. The deal breaker was when I found out they were dragged through some warp hole because of a plot contrivance leaving behind everything the first game had ended with.
Really killed any interest I had left.

I have the game but everything else I've bought seems more interesting than it after trying out that demo. Maybe the game series just isn't for me, felt the first game was decent but not much more after I played it. Some of the bad endings were fucking great. And the death screams were really sweet for some reason. The music and sound in the PSP remake is superb.

Nice. I also find Freedom Wars to be a lot more fun than God Eater. Flying around with the thorn, chopping up giant robots and shooting parts off them is way more enjoyable.

And there are usually Vitagenners keen on booting up for some co-op. I feel like Freedom Wars is a little easier to jump into cold than other games like Soul Sacrifice Delta and Dragons Crown. There seem to be a few people playing Soul Sacrifice Delta at the moment and I should be bothered getting back into it with them. Figuring it out again feels like a lot of work though.

Huh, then I honestly have a hard time as to what game that isn't a straight up vs game because everything else is either a MonHun like game or not aimed at casual/young audiences.
Maybe Little Big Planet but I hear online isn't that good, not sure about ad-hoc but maybe it won't be as bad, also maybe Ragnarok Odyssey Ace, but even that one is a stretch since it's an RPG.
