He claimed to have wanted to bring the quality of movie animation to the small screen, and thus paid for 121 motherfucking episodes of The Clone Wars, often exceeding $1 million per episode.

According to Lucasfilm's Pablo Hidalgo, the show wasn't even close to the viewership needed for the show to be profitable, Lucas just wanted to properly tell the tale of Anakin Skywalker and the Clone Wars before he left.

Advance 3 > Generations > Unleashed = Adventure >>>>>> 06

Advanced 3 is the best because the hub worlds were very simple. They acted as a tutorial for some of the mechanics you would find in the Zone. They were straightforward and linear so you couldn't get lost, only taking about half a minute tops to find the next Act. They had minigames that earned you lives tucked away in easy-to-find locations that you could generally just pass by quickly as to always be prepared for the upcoming boss. And they let you change characters without exiting to the main menu.

So "why can't I just mash A to go to the next level? Hub worlds suck" aside, SA3 is the one that I feel was most convenient and helpful and added to the gameplay.

Generations is second place because I honestly quite liked bringing all the worlds back to life and seeing the side characters react. It wasn't too frustrating to navigate, and you could also just ignore the Hub world for 95% of the game and go straight to the next Act if you want.

The rest of the Hub worlds suck and I don't care for them.

Adventure for being able to explore and get around as all characters. It felt like a cohesive world, albeit small.

06 tried to do it and just filled in the area with so much nothing, and then got rid of the one thing allowing you to go fast in it.

Unleashed has a lovely atmosphere and non-jarring aesthetics.

Gens is a kinda lazy hub-world. Advance gets away with it for at least requiring skill to get to some of the later zone areas. If you're going to put one in, put something more than mostly white and some small platforming sections.

Best hub world anyway is Crash Twinsanity

I want a vibrant 3D one where you can interact with the side characters. They can have fun little interactions with you, but also offer some cool useful stuff in game. Like, head over to Cream and she'll give you access to the Chao Garden. Rouge could sell you lives. Go and find the Chaotix and they'll have the Sound Test. Ect, ect.

Basically, just let you live in the world with all the characters you saved/fought with for fun, as well as being useful for the actual gameplay.

All the hub worlds in Sonic so far are shockingly barren and empty, which makes little sense with all the side characters that exist. They should be there!

Sonic having more limited options allows for things like dramatic tension and for villains to not need to be cosmic beings from beyond time and space to be threatening.
When sonic was trapped in a capsule and jettisoned into deep space there was something there was story telling potention rather than him just instantly vibrating through the glass and decking eggman at several times the speed of sound.

Yeah, and that's part of the problem. It's things like this that are just signs of extremely childish writing. They're just saying shit like this because talking about Light Speed is a "fast" term and wow Sonic's way past cool enough to be faster than that lol! The problem is that the actual speed of light is wholly inappropriate for any scenario that actually takes place on a single planet. The speed of light is 186,000. Not miles per hour, either. Per second.

Can I buy Sonic being able to travel at light speed through rings simply by following their ring energy or w/e? Yeah. I've always been at least kind of fine with that, because it's less a super-duper feat of Sonic himself, but utilizing a concentration of ring energy to propel himself through rings like electricity traveling through a power line.

Haven't ever been able to explain away the Light Speed Attack, though. At that point you kind of have to just dismiss it as a name.
