I play against a lot of coppers in casual when I play with some friends and their acquaintances, as no one else on my team is higher than silver, which makes sense because they're all from a terrorist hunt discord.
It's truly amazing what coppers do. Playing Tachanka every defense round in awful positions, controller users, oblivious to explosions going off next to them, no situational awareness in general. I saw someone with a ranked win rate and k/d of 0.2 and 0.3, how does that even happen?

The biggest reason why Rook isn't chosen as much in pro league anymore is because with the addition of Mira, there are too many other important operators that need to be chosen.
The most common defense setup is Jager, Valkyrie, Bandit, Mira, and Smoke. Usually Mira or Bandit is subbed out for Castle, Pulse, or Rook when they're not needed on the site.

Blitz doesn't do what Monty does and Monty doesn't do what Blitz does. I think this may be the problem. You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of their two play styles. The chief advantage that Blitz has is that in close quarters he can both stun, shoot and melee. Monty cannot do any of these things in close quarters unless you unshield in which case he can now only do two of those things while having all the vulnerabilities of Blitz and none of the capacity to defend yourself by stunning your attacker. Monty is more valuable as mobile cover and recon by placing himself in the objective room doorway and pinging enemies, while Blitz is bad in this regard due to his exposed gun and feet. They're used entirely differently, so there's no use in saying that Monty does what Blitz does better, simply because that's not how you play either of them.

If someone's close enough to be flashed they're close enough to melee the shield back and shoot you, if it was an actual stun then he'd be top tier instantly but it's not. Blitz and Montagne's lifespan are tied to enemy latency but the key difference here is montagne gets an extend option for when shit gets real and blitz gets to pepper a piss poor ranged flash while praying to god he gets lucky hipfiring as they pepper his exposed arm.

Yes it is, but you missed the point entirely. You don't use his flash like a flashbang. It's a defensive countermeasure, not an offensive deployable. You don't use it on an enemy in order to attack them, although it's possible if you peek them, you use it to defend yourself from an attacker trying to rush you.

No, again, you're wrong. His flash being roughly half the range of a flashbang means than you can totally blind an attacker who is 4-5 meters away from you. Unless they're sprinting at you as a three speed and you don't notice them, you can easily flash and spray before they hit you with a melee attack. As a 30hr blitzposter, this is my bread an butter. I cannot tell you how many Jagers and Bandits I have killed because they try to rush me and melee me. Unless they're super patient and sneak up on you, it's a non-issue. For all intents and purposes, the flash puts them out of action as long as you don't ADS and invite that panic spray headshot they always do.
