Honeypot 1 positions should always join fights since theyre irrelevant even if they die but if you as the real carry (with +4 levels on everyone else in the game bar the enemy mid)

Do not feed your mid lane advantage to the enemy team, that is how you lose games.

Drums are strength based, so low mobility heroes like sven, chaos knight or supports who need to gtfo. But i prefer echo saber because i play more aggressively. Drums have charges so be careful whereas echo sabers give mana regen and an extra hit with a slow.

So sven is the classic example of an echo saber user since god strength + echo = reckted.

Sny is good for stats and move speed and the occasional slow, paired with echo to chase ppl down. But it loses value late game. Basically get it to finish games fast or sell it later for a late game item.

So heroes would be melee guys with high damage, sven, ck, slardar(with sny for more movement) come to mind along with bloodseeker early game before his speed goes insane.

Drum is generally fairly shite on carries nowaday, if you look at the stats for triple the cost of the bracer you got like 3 more agi and int. The active is nice, but its not something your pos 1 should be buying.

Echo is better on heroes like Sven who needs the slow, and wants to get as much damage as possible in the stun/BKB period, or Slark to increase his burst in ganks. It sort of replace Aquila on him, giving the mana regen, as well as the effect.

SnY is sort of like a poor man Skadi, the stats are really good, but its just an overall stat increase. The MS and Main is helpful for chasing. Its good on heroes like SF or Jugg or DK that doesn't need anything in particular

Drums is pretty much worthless at this point and Echo sabre is the new drums. In the sense of that its a generic "utility carry" item that doesn't do 1 thing particularily well and could easily be replaced by some alternative.

For Slark and Sven that would be Mask of Madness since they both just want the burst anyway and instead of a short slow, you just stay on them with a MS buff.

The only hero I think echo saber actually makes sense on is that burst tiny build going around. But that is about having fun, not so much winning
