The one thing I always hated about Rise was the titans could get stuck on either side of those pillars and it was a huge pain to go all the way around them. I hate how some maps just completely fuck over titans and make everything corridors. I love Angel City and Glitch because of how the handled it.

Because it is fairly useless in open areas and relatively easy to avoid even in confined spaces. It does less damage than the archer and is less reliable than the charge rifle/mgl. Meter gain is really its biggest boon besides the AOE potential. It's annoying but fair, much like the rest of the AT.

Monarch is a new MP version of the Vanguard from singleplayer. It doesn't have a normal core ability and instead slowly gets stronger with new upgrades every time you activate your core. The first upgrade you get in a match is Arc Rounds which wreck shields, meaning Monarch can very easily counter Scorch after a single level up.

Militia designed Vangaurds with a focus on long-term use, and for a Pilot and titan to grow into one another, compared to the IMC plan of quantity over quality.

Monarchs are mixture between short and long term use. The upgrade rewards skilled pilots who can keep their titans alive for a long time, while maintaining the quantity mindset the IMC prefers. It's actually rather smart of Hammond Robotics.

it's a badly designed and janky shitfest with hilarious bugs, depressing weapon balance, and an unforgivable spawn system. But it has the greatest movement of any FPS, with only Quake Live and golden age Tribes: Ascend coming close. Titans are awesome and create an asymmetrical fighting system unlike any other game. There are a lot of normal weapons but the weird ones are insanely fun. The raw mechanics feel so good. Just playing the game, win or lose, gives me so much more pleasure than other FPS games. I don't even want to play any other ones now.

I bought during Christmas have played it regularly ever since, one of the best movement systems in a FPS and the titans make for great fun. They made pilots and titans surprisingly well-balanced against one another, and it's fun as hell to sprint through a battlefield and see two different levels of combat taking place between pilots vs. pilots and titans vs. titans and the fighting that goes on as pilots take potshots at titans and vice versa between fighting one another. It's legitimately the most fun I've had in a multiplayer game in a long time, even for the bugs and shortcomings it has. I'd definitely recommend it.

Disembarking by accident has happened to few times to me. The best time was where both me and my enemy were doomed and both disembarked at the same time. I ended up melee'ing them in midair and then rodeo'd their titan to death. Without a doubt, the most bad-ass moment I've had in the game.

Of course, my Titan was killed by a stray reaper or something stupid while this was happening, but it was still cool as hell.

If the prime titans had warpaint and did nose art correctly I would use them way more often. Against groundslows, sure, but CAR is much easier than the EPG. If you miss your first shot your opponent should be able to kill you before you can fire again. EPG is arguably the easiest Grenadier alongside cold war but projectile is generally harder than hitscan. EPG's AOE range should be set back to what it was though, it currently is a bit too forgiving.

On a basic level, you can stand still and hit a moving target at any distance with ease with a CAR, while the EPG requires that you either lead your shots or adopt a play style in which you're never that far away from your target. The fact that the EPG is a one hit kill doesn't really matter when the CAR only takes a tenth of a second longer to kill, and utilizing the splash damage still demands more effort from you because it asks you to make predictive shots.
It doesn't take a genius to do well with grenadier weapons, but I'm tired of the "SMGs and ARs aren't the easy mode weapons" meme

This whole hitscan vs projectile debate is old and annoying. Use what you want, everything has it's challenges no matter how easy it is. The only gun in Titanfall that is truly "easy" is the Smart Pistol. You could argue that the R-97 is close in its current state. The only truly "hard" guns would be the Kraber/Double take and maybe Mastiff. Hitscan is hitscan. The rest of projectiles have easy to grasp playstyles and have the benefit of rapid ROF (L-STAR, SMR) or AOE. In the end it is a pretty level field. The projectiles are different and have a learning curve but are just as easy as hitscan once you understand them.
