You HC types with the mentality of "it's not HC so why care" know it's still demotivating to die right? It doesn't feel good to fail at content.

The difference is in SC you aren't gambling huge amounts of play time on failure. HC is great I enjoy dabbling in it, but it really depends on having the spare time to re-roll a character upon failure if you want to experience content or hit challenges.
