You increase your stats by primarily by junctioning spells to each of them, it's insanely easy to break the game by not leveling up and just refining materials into spells for junctioning.

You want your WHM to have high HP and preferably innate Steal so they can do stuff while not healing for non-boss fights (aka 90% of the game).

This leaves Vaan and Balthier as the best candidates.

If you do, you will be one of the few to get the true VIII experience with supposedly the most difficult final boss in the series. I couldn't tell you, since I couldn't beat the second form on such a playthrough and have never had the guts to play non-overpowered one ever again. I can promise you, it will be extremely involving experience that you'll never forget, where you'll use every trick in the book you can think of, when every wrong action, such as wasting a turn Drawing on a single character, results in a total party wipe in a random encounter. Granted this will only be on a no-item/death run and not doing any "extra" (because it's actually impossible to determine how much, if any, is too much) empowering activities, such as Refining, only some Drawing and not much of that either. However I really couldn't recommend it in good conscience. Nevertheless it's doable.

Importing the PocketStation is useless in my opinion, but if you can, why not?

I have 160K event currency, should I spend it on purecrysts or giancrysts? I know giancrysts are considered the rate limiting step but they're also technically infinite since you can farm them. I'm not planning on upgrading anyone right now (other than Ramza when he finally gets his but I already have enough of the T3, T4, and T5 crysts). I was thinking of grabbing the T5 support and power crysts.

So not very useful, but it's cheap.

I tend to value gameplay, characters and customization more than other aspects, but those too are important to me. Beyond those, even specific individual things such as, for example, a story breaking its premises will usually turn me against the game, unless it's not serious about the story and has a notable amount of levity.

Excluding characters that require a long setup:

1. DKC (dark chains are basically nonexistent right now though and he's pretty unwieldy to use if dual wielding)
2. Luneth
3. Trance Terra w/ DC Alterna
4. Olive
5. Firion (way higher if killers apply)

Emperor technically has the highest potential but it takes forever for his stacks to build up. Rem would probably be 2 or 3 but she also requires a few turns to build up stacks, though not nearly as many as Emperor. Luneth is probably the easiest and most reliable to use if you have him, plus he has a lot of flexibility with what element he has equipped.

Fuck XIII dungeons and their six gorillion ranged bosses.

On Orlandu it's 70, on Fryevia it's 40. Activate Fryevia 30 frames (1/2 a second) after Orlandu.

He hits with that frame delay. If you say the first hit is frame zero, the last hit of the first hand is frame 40.

Orlandu's second hand hits 70 frames +40 frames = 110 frames after it begins.
Fryevia's second hand hits 30 frames +40 frames = 70 frames after it begins.

That's why she's so much harder to chain. The delay between her hands is WAY smaller, you have basically no freedom with where you put the second Fryevia.

It's had its ups and downs. Vargas was literally the only banner thing I got from the BF event so I'll be forever lost to Tilith but other than that I'd feel like it would be selfish of me to say I wasn't happy with it.

Yeah pretty much. 3*s have a 80% chance of appearing, 4*s have a 19% chance of appearing and rainbows have a 1% chance of appearing. Roughly, there may be a decimal in there. For each, there's a 50% chance it's an on-banner unit and a 50% chance it's an off-banner unit.

So your chances of getting an on-banner 5* are about 0.5% per pull.

I'm aware believe me, I've done the summon simulator enough to know my odds are a total crapshoot. I have 30k lapis, 2 4* tickets, 1 4* EX ticket, and 20 regular tickets (hoping to get this up), that's a literal 50/50 chance of getting her. I was planning on burning through maybe 2/3s my stock and then cutting my losses if I don't get her. At this point I have all the characters I need (basically every meta defining support unit+current top 2 damage dealer in the game), so now I can pull for the characters I want. A physical damage dealer is the one category I'm lacking in right now so I might as well go for the waifu.

Yes, I'm quite pleased with my luck, I like all the 5* bases I have and the donut is ok because I like dragoons and saved jewgles for her spear. I own all 4* bases sans Ling, VLC + Swimsuit Fina and Sohze.
I hope to get as many NieR characters as I can, and looking forward to FFIII's banner too.
Crossing fingers for Scumi to bring the SD3 characters as well, Riesz/Lise has always been a favourite.

As far as healers, would you say Rem is better than DC Refia? I like Rem's additional SPR and built in dualcast but Refia's Full-Raise is hard to beat and she has status immunities.

I would personally say they fill different roles. DC Refia is a fantastic healer, but Rem can do acceptable healing while also being a competent Finisher. Her single target Reraise is practically useless though in the Rikku meta and really outclassed by Full Raise. In theory, you could use both but it's not really fair to compare the two.

Stats have VERY little impact on healing.

Each point of SPR only gives you 1.7 points of HP back in heals.
And it takes 3 MAG points to add a single HP as well.
SPR is good for survivability and nothing else.

Generally speaking, Vaan is a last-resort budget chainer (low stats, low utility, low modifier).Penelo is not worth considering using in any circumstance.

So until Vayne arrives you're probably best served by not using XII characters at all. (Unless you can stand Rasler for just sort of being dragged into a war due to his father's actions.)

You don't want to kill him every turn, that doesn't work.
Not only does an unbuffed unit run the risk of getting killed after reraise but before your turn, but you'd also need to reapply buffs if you aren't running ramza.
And if he doesn't have at least 60% HP at the start, he won't even get both hits off before he dies.

Ideally you want a healer that dualcasts, so you can finish when he's under 60% HP (his regen only works if he's still alive, remember).
Because Tilith is so central right now, your best bet is Ayaka when she comes along.
