Uno is pretty fun. I ended up buying http://store.steampowered.com/app/320430/Ascension_Deckbuilding_Game/ during the Steam sale and it's fun too. Even though there's little in the way of cards that directly interact with your opponent, it still has more interaction than Gwent due to the state you leave the center cards every turn.

Plus the triss butt can be disrupted by shackles or weather which will cause her to keep buffing the same weakest unit repeatedly. Axemen would just keep coming back no matter how many times you removed them because the only reliable way to shut them down was to tech 3 mardroemes (or 2 mardroemes and a card like peter)

Well, this was nice.

I tried to play QG and had an absolutely miserable time.

But at least I was able to use the experience into reading that he probably had at least 1 priestess in hand which were dead cards without nothing to res, and thus I ended up correctly going for the 2-0, even after I gave him Cantarella.

ALBAAAAAAAAAA man ended up only giving him live a 7 point lacerate, which was ok considering he drew shackles on the previous game.

Let me tell you why the deck is trash, disregarding the fact that monsters are simply better:

- Too many people running shackles because of Trissbutt so Tibor WILL get shackled. He might even draw the shackles himself for added cancer.

- You will claws your eyes out at the mulligan. Being able to mulligan only 2 cards instead of 3 is THE BEST CASE MULLIGAN SCENARIO. Everything else you're praying - and sometimes you can't mulligan just 2, and you are forced to pray.

- You will NEVER, EVER, have equal number of alchemists and foot soldiers in hand.

- 2 Alchemists + Auckes = 20 point igni you can't play around

- You play pikeman round 1, and if ciri dash is not your hands, YOU DON'T HAVE A TURN 2 PLAY. Alchemist into Foot Soldiers? Lol get a pikeman. Calveit? lol get roach and a Foot Soldier. Vilgefortz? Can't play him until golems AND pikemen are all out :). Borkh and Tibor? No sweetie, you can't play those golds cards in round 1 Assire? Nothing to put back. Decoy? Nothing to decoy.

The best turn 2 play you have with this deck is playing standard bearer and buffing a fucking pikeman so it doesn't get zapped. Now think about how bad that is.

The deck is shit. Even worse that reveal, and it makes me sad, trust me. Playing it at 4k is one thing, pretending you can go from 3k to 4k playing it exclusively is quite another.

On a side note CDPR need to take a step back and think about what their goal is. They want to avoid auto includes but that is the nature of every card game ever made. I love the swarm archetype, but the carry over can be a bit extreme. Having 4-6 additional units before you drop fog and Yen in the second/third round makes a huge difference.

Best bet is to probably just play. Helps finding out what cards work and how to mulligan/blacklist properly.

But I at least got a pretty decent hang of the game after doing all the challenges and getting to level 10 and unlocked ranked.
Now you won't even lose MMR before 1k, so no reason not to just step right into ranked when you get to that point.

When you get there you'll probably be 20+ hours deep and have a decent grasp of the mechanics.

The meta decks, specifically Trissbutt decks have clear neutral counters like Shackles,Yen Con, Lacerate and Rain. They also get shit on by Baron Decks, Spellatel and Axemen decks. They are currently a bit oppressive but only because they cannot be outvalued by solitaire decks and shit like QG and Reveal which were the previous meta.

I've been running Ocvist in my consume deck and honestly it's been a great choice.

yen con is not a counter to swarm at all, fire and earth elementals easily block it long enough for the card to generate over 30 points of value.
one copy of shackles is not enough, and is rarely if ever drawn when it's needed, even when running NG decks that thin to the last card, it is a dead card half the time, the other times it's not in your hand when you need it, and when you actually end up able to use it, it's a fucking fringe case.
lacerate is a great card, sure, but it's the samething with shackles to a lesser degree, you must draw it on time, and in the end, it's just a 12 point bronze on average in this meta due to all the deathwish garbage.
rain is not a viable card to run in any deck except baron.
baron is a meme deck and falls apart with one bad mulligan.
spellatael is dead, and dwarves is the same boring solitaire as trissbutt.
axemen can win one round and just outright lose the game due to a lack of win conditions.
the meta has no true counterplay, it's just solitaire vs solitaire decks, with tech cards not getting enough value, or usually simply not being drawn when needed.

Adding more shit without fixing old shit is not a way to ameliorate the problem, just look at Hearthstone. With Gwent it's even less of a solution, since the game is so tied to synergies, any new card introduced to a faction would end up being either overpowered, or completely useless. What needs to be fixed is the solitaire nature of so many decks. A game without the 'face' was meant to be all about exchanged, but instead ended up being about executing autistic combo pieces to get the highest number. Sadly, it's alreadly in open beta, ready to hit the market soon, so it's too late to address the fundamental problems.
