From some angles it looks nice, but from behind it's awful. With that massive gap between the engines and how flat and wide it looks, and although I love delta wing jets I don't like the shape of the F-14 with the wings swept back

The main reason I used Barteks is because he fixed the shit city textures by just getting rid of them. DCS does that stupid shit where you have buildings, but then also texture of a city underneath it and it looked horrible. Removing it made cities look 200x better.

Try to run DCS updater, I'm not sure, but it should find existing files from anywhere
For example 1.5.7 released, I ran the game, and it automatically found Open beta directory and took existing files it could have and downloaded 300mb.
If it starts DOWNLOADING something like 10gb+ turn it off, move game files anywhere else and install 1.5 setup into directory you moved files and then try to run again. it should check for existing files for sure then

Something technical involving the drivers. After 4.32 the centering force was disabled. Maybe there's some program to put it back, I don't know. It's not like the FFB was used for anything anyway. In DCS the FBW planes have force trimming.

Apparently there's no way to pull up the map while flying (as if!), so I memorized some landmarks like "follow the winding river until you reach the Y split and then take the right river..." and flew. Unfortunately with like only ten shitters on the server I flew for 30 minutes and didn't find a damn thing.

So the next time I just followed some guy in a dual-engined plane. He flew in a straight line for 20 minutes and then we shot at some parked trains. That's fucking it. Shooting parked trains. So I have to choose between keeping my sanity and having any hope of winning a fight. I think I'll just fly the Mustache Mercedes in fucking DCS instead. A lot of MiG-25s attempted hit and run attacks ala MiG-21 but were typically thwarted by a wall of Eagles and other fighters. Because of their speed they typically turned and ran and outrank any missiles fired at them, but as a result they never made any successful intercepts beyond the kill on Scott Speicher. The point with the mig29 was to be a cheap front line fighter that was more capable than the previous ones. While it is more capable its much more expensive so the soviet union could never field as many as needed. Also mikoyan had a lot of connections in the soviet military so they never needed to really try hard. On then other hand sukhoi wasnt even a member of the communist party and that stigma remained even after his passing.

Yes, you can.
In Orbiter Space Simulator, there exists a version of the Apollo space missions, which acts includes an emulation of the navigation computer. In that case, the real code used on the real lunar missions is navigating the space ship in the simulator.

In other applications, the main problem is probably licensing for the code. Using custom code is why modules cost less than $100, and not $10K+ each.

In addition, there are probably redundancy processes and code features which would be too demanding for a PC to run alongside a digital 3D environment.

An interesting tidbit about this subject, PMDG actually purposely created unique coding standards for their modules, to protect against real aircraft operators installing flightsim software and data into real aircraft.
