Not sure about pirating it besides the usual sites, some have fonts full of shit

On fonts dot com though you can test it out and save it in image form, and there's tga files of all the fonts and fnt files, so if you can figure out how to convert them you can get the fonts from there. FontForge didn't seem to work for me though

It's the fastest quest to earn money if you only destroy the nest. Other than that, you get your trinkets back and occasionally get his trinkets/decent quirks. Corvid's eye and Corvid's Grace are great quirks to keep in mind.

Get camouflage cloak or other protective trinkets. I usually go with a mark party of bh, hm, occ and arby and have them all try to destroy the nest. Bounty hunter is the main DPS with collect and finish him while the others attack the nest whenever the Shrieker isn't threatening the party or covering for each other when he gets a lucky crit/bleed in. Bring all the bandages, herbs, blood if you plan on bringing CC heroes and maybe holy water for the nasty shit he spews at you. Survive the four rounds while destroying the nest whenever you can and collect the reward. Just remind yourself that the party's survival is FIRST priority and the nest is second.

Always kill stress dealer first, if you can't kill them in a single turn stun them. Try to stun/kill instead of healing the damage you took.
Marks are nice but it's better to have multiple heroes that benefit from them in a single party, one is not enough to justify using a mark imo

Focus on lowering the amount of enemy actions each round. Speed is king, stun is Queen.

If your heroes have low stress, focus on damaging the big boys.

If your heroes have medium stress, focus the enemies in back since they usually build stress quickly on you.

Hero synergy is really important too, but should be focused around which part of the estate you're visiting.

You're first playthrough, if you're going in blind, is all a learning experience. Expect to lose a lot due to stress maddness.Stress gets a lot easier to manage once you figure out all the Curios triggers and which enemies prioritize stress buildup.

Marks are good against big enemies, or if you have an occultist with nothing better to do on your team (one of his curses marks targets). If it would otherwise take two or less hits to kill, dont bother with marks.

Fantastic against bosses and minibosses though.

Aim to disable them. You should focus on killing the weakest ones and they're normally the backliners that throw stress and DoTs at your party. Those guys are the most susceptible to being 1-2hko so plan out your round first. Every round you should try to disable as many enemies as possible while attacking them.

For example, if you're fighting against a swine party you should aim for the swine wretch because he has low HP, no prot, low bleed resist and only dodge. On your first turn, kill him first with one or two heroes. If you can't, you have to cut your losses and try stunning a enemy to prevent them from attacking you on their turn. Debuffing their speed, accuracy and damage works. If you are sure a weak hero is to take a hit, guard or buff him so he will make a comeback on the next round. Heal your heroes when they're at 50% or when you feel like they are very susceptible to hitting death's door.

DoT attacks like bleed and blight are going to carry half of your fights. That's because of the advantages they provide

Always Wicked Slash, If it bleeds, Iron Swan and Adrenaline rush. Occasionally I'll switch rush for yawp since duo stunning the front lines then having her finish enemies with debuff'ed dmg is alright. Breakthrough is nice but I would rather kill one guy at a time first then weaken all three of them and eat three full powered attacks.

I feel like my hellion would waste a turn if she used a underwhelming finisher move first and then have to adrenaline rush her next turn. Her finishers/super moves should be saved if you have spare herbs to use or if you don't have a fight for the next four tiles.

I just killed veteran Necromancer with GR+Vestal+HWM+Leper, it took me 2 turns to erase him.

With intimidate being buffed, you can pair him with classes that suffer against high prot without DoTs. I was really disappointed that he only marks himself instead of the enemy, that would make him a mark hero.

That is the thing, you are only looking at heals. Sure the Occultist doesn't have an AoE heal and his single target heal can get a 0 but it can even get 40+ crits as well, though his strong suit is his versatility. You can neuter high threat enemies like giants with weakening curse, or mark enemies for death, or hit the back row with abyssal artillery, and so on. He can help reduce damage along with his healing.

It's honestly better that way, in the long run when you have too many mods clogging up your files. With the workshop can just disable and enable mods you want and it wont break the game unless the mod itself is faulty. In way, Nexus does have the advantage of customization at least. Workshop mods are usually packaged as sets, whereas Nexus mods give you the raw files and lets you pick what files you need, and some mods have special optional files that adds more stuff.

MaA suffers from lack of focus.

First panel is a 'crossover' of a boss, overshadowing the importance of MaA but establishing the ferocity of this fight.

Then we're given something of a splash panel, MaA heroically defending a child. Showing off his ability to protect. Also wtf is going on to the left of MaA? Is that supposed to be a crusader? Looks like he cut him in half with the barrel of a gun. Maybe its evil King Piccolo and his egg head.

One banner shot- though its importance isn't known. The child is entirely abandoned to show off Riposte.

Then there are some interchangeable shots of the child, the banner and MaA collapsing.

And the child looks panicked right before they blow up but the direction makes it seem like they were surprised- which makes me wonder why the banner would make them distress.

Then MaA wakes up and there are maybe two dead bodies in the picture, looks like some drab countryside more than the end of a battlefield but still you get the lonely feeling from it.

I suppose its just to show off some MaA bullshit and throw in the comparison of the worth of Life to the worth of a battle fought(? Not sure what else the banner would represent).

MaA's set piece quote is "Glory Days? Hmph." and one of the set pieces is a Toy Soldier; but its not part of the comic.

There's no use of color to really show anything other than explosions, and the banner is some generic torn shirt- I almost pondered the idea he thought it was the child's mother or something.

In retrospect it may have been better to start MaA at a big colorful ceremony where he's getting shiny as fuck medals put on him before he goes off to war.
Have a big colorful battle scene that slowly greys as MaA suffers the pressures of war and sees a lot of young people die over some colorful banner thing.

Description: A man, draped in sodden, blighted bandages, with an unshakable habit of hiding his face. across all exposed skin, holes and cysts are present, bleeding and leaking indescribeable fluids. upon one shoulder rests a mass of flesh, red and inflamed with spots of decaying necrosis, brutal tendrils of flesh digging into the man. It is a hive for worms, maggots, centipedes, flies, and who knows what other parasites have made his tortured body their home.
Attacks would revolve around exposing various parts of his bandaged body to reveal a form of attack, eg. pulling his chest bandanges away for holes that centipedes would lash out from, or rupturing a shoulder boil to spray rotting pus as a ranged attack. (for all attacks however, he shows great pain and continues to cover his face with either one or both hands, i want his attacks to seem like they are out of his control, as if they were merely a reflex of the parasites in his body)
The main element i would have for him would be that all of his moves would inflict stress on the rest of the party, even if it would only be a small amount. to counter this obviously pretty glaring con i would give him pretty powerful attacks and debuffs, so players would have to weigh their options between a powerful asset and a constant stress dealer.

In any case, his trinket implies that he used to be idealistic about being a soldier (toy soldier), doing it for guts and glory. Over time, seeing comrades young and old die in the fevered pitch of battle made him cynical (his trinket quote), and he retired from the military in order to be a mercenary, unable to leave battle behind like the crusader. His Come Unto Your Maker quote also implies he was searching for redemption in the hamlet as well, and managed to find it before the end, leaving his past behind.

Another interpretation about the toy soldier since it looks similar to him, is that the the MaA became a famous war hero in his country and led quite an illustrious career. However, he was still jaded by his experiences seeing his comrades die over meaningless battles. Thus, he scorns what others think were his 'glory days' and keeps his old unit standard as a reminder to his lost comrades

And yeah, Usually I'd run a a Vestal instead of the Arb, but I want to focus on quick damage for kills instead of stunlocks. Didn't find myself needing to heal much last time either.

HM is my stress healer and combined with BH my big target killer.

The Leper has a literal fuck ton of damage buff quirks, so I use him to decimate the first two rows. With speed buffs 1st round I can usually whittle them down to one or two enemies and clean up on round 2.

Has a Damage & Accuracy debuff to punish big dumb super damage dealers like centaur pigs and giant meat cleaver pigs.

There are basically a few ways to approach Viscount:

a) Kill the medium corpse, followed by the large corpse, then all he has left to use is the small corpse. He will increase crit and heal some health but it's better to let him spend a turn doing this instead of attacking you. This is probably the "safest" way that a balanced party comp will have to kill him.

b) Rush him down with DPS. It needs to be pure DPS too, he will cure DoTs so don't bother trying that.

c) Use a marking party. Kill the medium, then the small corpse, leave the large corpse alive. He will always eat it which wastes two of his turns, meaning marks stay on longer, he only attacks once per turn and you can probably out-DPS his heals if your damage is good enough.

If you do have DoTs then use them on his corpses as he will transfer those to him when he eats. I dont think there's any scenarios where it's worth killing all his corpses, nor is it ever worth leaving the medium corpse alive.

Bring a combination of multi-hit attacks and good single target focus. Typically you want to reveal each enemy unit 1 by 1, then if one of them is the baron you need to pop the other ones and dispose of them as soon as you can.

He will bring back the healing block at 66% and 33% health, so if you can get healing in before he does this then do so.

Otherwise just bring in good single target and DPS race him.

Once you understand the games mechanics and how to make good groups her poor combat skills (though Protect Me is an amazing ability and nervous stab is decent) largely cease to be a problem until you get on champion. For apprentice and veteran I run an antiquarian in a lot of groups without much trouble.

Bring her on 'safe' dungeons, like Short/Ruins runs. I prefer to only bring her on Short runs so that her combat weakness has the least effect, and because on medium/long runs you will very quickly run out of inventory space for all the extra shit she gets you.
All you need for her to work is a lineup with a healer, damage dealer, and tank, so that you're not lacking anything.
I would say an Antiquarian is definitely a necessity, though. I've gotten upwards of 20k gold from medium apprentice runs thanks to her, it's fucking amazing.

What is your opinion on spoiling the game for yourself? Recently I spoiled the siren fight because I fear bosses. I just don't like the idea of getting to a fight and having a boss shit on me because I use weird team comps. For example, I like setups lije leper leper man at arms and occultist.

That kind of setup can get destroyed by any positional fuck ups and I read that the siren can put your guys on the back rank after she charms one.

That is fucked. If I had gone on with that group, they would have died.

The Leper is the master of DEVASTATING BLOWs.

I have one with at least 35% damage boost in quirks alone, add on some damage trinks and I'm guaranteed to burn through the first two enemy positions every time.

He can self heal/stress heal too, so you can basically focus support elsewhere.

But idk, I think without the right trinkets he tends to be a flip of the coin. His lowered accuracy can be frustrating.

Marking himself means that enemies are more likely to attack him, especially enemies like fungal zombies would use rend the marked on him. He can take it since marking himself comes with a prot buff and destress. It's not as great as MoA's guard but the good thing about your leper taking hits is that he can recover from them quickly and he's rarely in danger of dying because he has the highest health paired with two skills that help him stay maintained throughout a fight.

He's your strongest pure damage dealer with the highest health. Against enemies like giant carrion or champ brigand, he can slice them like butter. The point in making a party around him is because he does his own thing independently and effectively. He can handle both frontliners on his own while you can focus on other priorities like places he can't reach like the backrow or recovering your other guys. If you bring the backrow to him, he can kill them quickly because backliners are weak to pure damage. So long as you support his weak points and give him buffs, he can be solo the fight all on his own. His strong point is his independent consistency on how you can support him as a main damage dealer or having to only worry about 3 heroes instead of 4 because he can fix himself. The only thing you really need to buff is his low speed and accuracy.

Yes. Have MaA guarding the backrow, stunning and riposte while buffing the party with commands. Occultist can use his daemon pull to clear corpses and bring the weak backline for your leper to kill. Arbalest will support her party with target healing together with occultist or finishing the backrow in case the rest of your party can't.

This party centers around PD helping your leper with vapors and Disorienting Blast while Hellion takes care of the backrow while leper can slash away. Pair emboldening vapors with berserk mask and he will demolish the frontline before they get the chance to move.

A common rule for you to follow is that leper's accuracy always needs to be buffed somehow by trinkets like sun ring and fortunate armlet. Buffing his speed comes second since like the bounty hunter, some times he's better off going last and kill the enemies your party has moved in front of him. Healing received trinkets or buffing his resistances are approaches you can try to make him a independent tank. A popular tactic is bring leper on a auntie expedition so you can force him to guard her and he can always focus on whatever needs to be done (debuff the enemy with intimidate, moving the front line and clear corpses and etc.)

For the longest time I thought exactly the same. When playing just before the official release, it never felt that my marked guys get targeted more often. Wonder if they changed it in some patch or you just don't notice it, because you focus on the bad things.

Try bounty hunter, houndmaster, occultist and arby.

Have them all equip a marking skill and everyone except occultist has at least one marked attack. HM and BH both can debuff prot with their mark against tank enemies. Arby and occultist should mark enemies that are high dodge, high priority like a stress dealer. Mark parties synthesize excellently if you have more than 2 heroes that can contribute in it (have someone mark and the other two-three heroes to cash in on the marked target). What's so great about this tactic is how effective it is to kill enemies one at a time without fail. Being on the attack this way, you can kill at least one or two enemies every round and at least stun one so your enemy can't dish out their own DPS because of their lowered numbers. Mark parties however, suffer against enemies that have a lot of turns or being debuffed/stunned so your attack power is diminished.

It depends on the dungeon. If it's a short warrens expedition, I don't need a healer so I would pick your first party with hm doing bonus damage and supporting your arby while she takes care of the back row or patching up your allies whenever she can.

Your second party, you should be fine using it anywhere in weald but it's better to switch hm with bounty hunter since he can use his collect and finish him skills on the third position. while your occultist supports him. Leper can handle the frontline all on his own while auntie will just do anything that needs to be done with a forced guard starting every two-three rounds. The great thing about her is that while auntie's skillset is crap, they consistently work and do the bare minimal job wherever she is (can bring a hero back from DD, a mediocre but spamable party buff, finishing off enemies and harassing the third row with her dagger). Her debuff and blight is almost completely not worth using.

I make it a practice in early game to ditch heroes that stress out or contract diseases/quirks that suck too much. You can always just replace them from the carriage.

There will be a point in your game that you don't need to worry about money and heirlooms. Once you completed 75% of your hamlet (upgraded the stage coach, have the blacksmith, hospital and guild maxed out), you can replace a hero easily starting at veteran+ from the coach.

You should only ditch heroes often in the beginning and when you're starting to have more than 27+ heroes in your hamlet, consider dismissing the redundant heroes and getting new ones that might help your near future goals (need another occultist to finish cove? Ditch a hero with lots of negative quirks or poor equipment and try to replace him whenever you find a veteran hero with tolerable quirks.

Also upgrade the sanitarium whenever you can so once you have a hamlet full of heroes with great positive quirks, you can focus on doing weald's medicine quest so your hamlet's heroes can become stronger every time you're going away.

What I normally do is attempt to upgrade sanitarium's rooms until two or three quirk rooms are unlocked and then finish medicine quests so the heroes, with their quirks being worked on, are easier to use in future expeditions. It's multi-tasking

For negative quirks, I generally try to purge anything that auto-interacts with curios. Compulsive, curious, some weirder ones like necromania, check the wiki for a list. Obviously this includes kleptomaniac (pic related). As far as locking positive quirks, try and group things together that make sense for the hero. For damage dealers like the Leper, try and get acc and melee damage bonus. Maybe prot or dodge on a MaA. Speed is always good on anybody if you've got a spare slot to lock.

They should give some incentive to justify it's price. It should provide one stress heal per hero until another fight comes.or provide a stress reduced buff. They shouldn't make it curio friendly like the other provisions but put it on a similar line with food except there are huge restrictions. You have two options. The first is send one guy in and immediately retreat. That will end the event though it will pop back up again. The second is go for the kill. Get a MaA, BH, Vestal, HM, and your best trinkets. Have the MaA in the fourth row guarding whoever has the bomb planted on them. Have the Vestal healing and trying to stun when not healing. The thing with the Hag and the Necromancers (I imagine for most of the necromancers there their biggest regret was they didn't think to do the same thing first) are the only events where he doesn't off as needlessly evil. Forcing a crew to relive their death over and over again. Feeding a demonic creature that he had little use of and could have easily let die people from the hamlet? The whole thing with the siren? Dumping his fucked up experiments down the drain knowing they would come back?

I think illuminate is total trash though. It lowers dodge a lot, but Vestal isn't accurate at all so it never lands. Worse still, you can't use it in pos 4 so no sniper ring.

I think she could really use some accuracy on her Mace Bash, Illumination and Hand of Light. Making Divine Grace usable from rank 2 wouldn't hurt either. Occultist can heal (or fail to bleed) from all positions and he ha good enough kit to work from forward ranks.

HM is, versatility and utility. Attacking from all ranks to all ranks, S tier stun, a guard, and great damage.

Hellion is a dedicated YAWPER unless you always provision mass herbs, then has alright damage, and can hit 4 from 1.

HM is easily top tier, Hellion is barely even arguably top tier.

What heroes have more than two roles, out of curiosity? Right now vestal has heals, debuffs, and a stun.

I think that the two roles she currently has are probably enough, but I'd like battle vestal to be a little better. Maybe add a self-heal to mace bash, to make her more self sufficient? Also change the prayer beads to affect her other front rank abilities, possibly buffing her self heal.

You could add a third capability by dropping the self-heal on judgment, and replace it with a self-buff that increases acc/dmg. That way, it would be better when you used it several times in a fight rather than just for the occasional shot between heals. Make illuminate useable from any rank.

One other thing which could be interesting would be to give her abilities extra power based on light level, and maybe let her push light levels past 100 in battle.

I really like this. You could call the class a banneret, perhaps. I think it should have a heal strong enough to make him a reasonable substitute for vestal/occultist. Give him an AoE heal but not a single target, like a reversed occultist. Heals slightly less than vestal AoE but gives a small PROT buff to compensate - would be more useful when there are already topped off heroes, but less good for quickly pulling up everyone's hp. Scales from 1-1 at rank 1, up to 3-3ish at rank 5.

You want each hero to have a few possible builds. I'm thinking that he should be buildable either to heal, stress heal and protect the party, or to give strong offensive buffs for a couple of rounds before charging in.

Hit chance isn't capped at 90%. There's an unseen +10% chance to hit applied to every attack. That's why 90% attacks never miss and why you/enemies can still hit with 0% chance.

Maybe she ought to have a skill that moves her forward and one that moves her back? Being able to swap between position 3 and 2 to access different powers would be pretty cool. If it's possible, I'd be interested in an ability that moved her forward if she's in rank 3-4 and back if in 1-2, that way you'd only need one ability to move about and could structure the rest accordingly.

If I'd give it a classy name it'd be the Signifer, Cornet or Ancient (corruption of Ensign). Also there are a number of roles that this class can do which are:
>use force guard to help ripostes
>sit in pos 3-4 to spam stress heals and buffs
>lunge forward from pos 4 to potentially nuke an enemy first turn like a backrow finale
>help shuffling parties get in order by moving to the back
>high risk high reward play with lunge and death's door buff to potentially turn the tide of a disastrous battle
Also, I'd focus his healing style to use restoration like the flagellant since it's a new feature that no other class or enemies use so far. Now, if only I could reskin the Bone Bearer and make a movement animation for him, then it would be a decent way to add such a class

Funny thing is, you can achieve a better result with Man-at-Arms spamming Bolster - your enemies will have harder time hitting your guys, but you also give speed to all of them and it has 100% chance of happening, while solo debuff has like 75% per enemy.

Got this game in the summer sale and enjoying it so far, just started playing it yesterday so I've only got a couple hours in. I just abandoned my first adventure into the courtyard, trying to finish the first crimson court quest with a level 1 team. It actually went really really well until the second to last room when I encountered a crocodilian, who killed two of my party before I was able to escape. Now I'm back in the hamlet and one of my surviving party members, a level 2 crusader, has the crimson curse.

Is it worth holding on to him, or because I'm relatively early in the game should I just release him before the cruse begins to spread?

Solo's effectiveness is heavily tied to Finale, but I'd start with raising the debuff chance on it. 100% on first level would be okay I guess, considering how most Apprentice monsters have around 15%? It would scale a little bit better then.

Jester already has a healthy dodge and that buff to speed is for 3 turns, so it's good enough in my opinion.

More speed -> can Solo again before their actions -> drop their accuracy even -> gain even more speed.

At least on low levels, no idea how this tactic would fare on Champion level, because I REALLY avoid using Jester.
