I disagree. Not only is wall scaling a big part of multiple characters' movesets, but the added verticality of Chaotix helped distinguish it from other classic games, much like how Tails' slower platforming and item use distinguished his game. Had Chaotix not been such an obvious rush job and the levels more polished, they could've made the game a lot more exploration-centered.

In my opinion, the Black Arms aren't that bad of an idea. Shadow being created with alien DNA and that DNA being why he's black and red is cool, in my opinion.

All I would really change about Shadow is that I'd give him literal "darkness" powers. Like, instead of the Ancient Light, he'd have the Ancient Darkness, the Light Dash would be a Dark Dash, Shadow would be capable of shadowy abilities similar to Mephiles, etc. Conversely, I'd play up the Light in Sonic and how his Lightspeed abilities actually work, with the Ancient Light inside him and stuff.

The canon can make perfect sense. There is no reason to make two planets or different universes.

It's just one world. Sonic's World is Earth. The Classics lead into the Adventure games, and the Adventure games lead into the... Third era of games, which leads into Lost World and Forces.

It all fits together perfectly. Even though the more recent games have little effort put into the story, nothing in it truly contradicts anything. It's just has a different feel and doesn't really connect in a grandiose way like before... Up until '06, every game was definitely connected with lore and mythology and everything. Then it all disappeared with Unleashed.... or rather, Colors, after Black Knight.

It's obvious that anime run fits pretty well with Sonic and his friends, but I would still complain instead that I don't like the way his arms, his legs and his head are positioned when he's running. I prefer the way Sonic runs on Lost World (at maximum speed), Advance and Rush, since the models and animations they have emphazise much more than Generations and Unleashed's models over how fast Sonic is running. Colors and Generations way of doing it... just isn't the same.

Played a bit of Sonic 1 on the Genesis they had in daycare when I was little but didn't care much for it.

Years later, I saw and played some Heroes at a friend's house (my parents wouldn't let me have my own console until the GameCube was out) and thought it was awesome, so I got it for myself on GC. Loved it and still love it now. Shadow was cool, so I sought out SA2 to learn more about him and had an okay time with that game.

Then Shadow the Hedgehog came out and they butchered most of the stuff that was appealing about Shadow so I haven't bought a game since then. At least I managed to squeeze some marginal enjoyment out of Sonic Battle when I learned how to use emulators though.
