private servers aren't meant to be taken seriously anyway. you're playing an illegal 3rd party version of a 13 year old game whose data is in the hands of completely anonymous individuals who have absolutely no reason to keep the servers running apart from a personal interest that could disappear at a moments notice, in addition to blizzard deciding to lawyer up and force them to erase every byte of data in existence. you could log on the 22nd and your character will be gone.

If you guys are worried about what faction to play, consider leveling a horde and an alliance character, take maybe 2 months of casually playing on both till deciding

many times have guilds rolled on a server/faction, to die when a bunch of people hate each other or other shitty drama happens right at the beginning. it also gives you time to let them create their own identity and you get to choose what you prefer in a guild

I played retail vanilla but didn't do a lot, mostly wpvp'd with friends and only did a bit of MC as well as a ton of ubrs/lbrs.
TBC was about the same, got to chess event in kara and that was about it past some SSC. I mainly arena'd with RL friends and was in school with not a ton of time. Even running kara was deep into the xpac as well so I was always leagues behind anyone else.
I pretty much have zero real accomplishments in vanilla/tbc unless "having fun" counts.

The problem is it requires a high amount of group coordination and reliability to use correctly. You need people to gear with enough hit so that they are 1% below the cap, in order to itemize the other stats. If the draenei doesnt show up, and you need several of them, of the correct classes and specs - for each group - or also if the actual correctly geared dps dont show up, and you have to pug - then people start missing, and your dps suffers, and you wipe because your stupid setup was built with zero tolerance for people not showing up.

5% hit is pretty good but it stops being relevant around like T5 when everyone has the hitcap without trying to get it anyway.

Granted. Really though you don't need 1 in the healer group or the tank group, so you need 3, 2 shaman/priest/mage and 1 warrior/pally/hunter. You're going to want a resto sham in the healer group for mana tide, and probably one in the tank group so they can gear to have more tank stats and less hit stats. Honestly before looking at this I didn't realize how valuable draenei were in composition, now I feel like I'd be doing people a disservice not rolling one.
