I'm playing prot warrior, so i get into M+ dungeons relatively easy, but i heard nh normal and hc are alot better place to get gear now. just read the dungeon journal, it literally explains what you need to do. Raid finder is piss easy and idiot proof, run that a couple times until you understand the basics of the fights then start pugging normal into heroics, take note of which mechanics change from one mode to the next and pay particular attention to stuff thats gonna be different.

Tanking is not hard, being a bad tank will harm your group more than being a bad dps, but being an *ok* tank is good enough for 95% of wow and being passable is a pretty simple matter of practice.

I play prot war as well and tanking is the easiest thing, especially since bosses don't hit as hard compared to ToS and healers will probably will be overgeared.
Most fights are "taunt at x stacks" or "tank the add", I've written down everything on a single sided post-it. If in doubt ask the other tank, he'll explain the fight in two sentences

What mechanics are you talking about? Normal tos doesn't have any mechanics for tanks apart from tankswitching. Those are:
goroth - big circle appears on the other tank
inquisition - you don't really even need to taunt, as long as you've pressed a button you'll get aggro once the other tank goes into the cell
harjatan - taunt once your bleed falls off
mistress - taunt when she casts burden of pain on the other tank
sisters - you don't even have to tankswitch if there are 2 colours of floor
host - spirit tank facefucks the castermob forever, real tank grabs the adds and facefucks the engine forever. Once marrowgar comes out taunt when the circle appears and run away when the swirl appears.
maiden - taunt when your colour smash is coming
avatar - i lied, this one has a tank mechanic - standing on the laser. Swap boss and add with the other tank on 2 debuffs
kj - taunt once felclaws are over. Completely ignore big armageddons because immunities are a thing. Completely ignore knockback because demonic circle/heroic leap/bear charge/glide is a thing. Dks and paladins might also have some way to ignore it, i wouldn't know.
And that's the entirety of normal. Heroic is marginally harder.

with refund you just lose 1 rank, there's no any point at all to do artifact refund under any circumstances as you will eventually get every single trait and by refunding you just throttle your own progression right now.

grind order resources and push that artifact knowledge to rank 40 - up to rank 25 you just buy it with resources and after rank 25 now it takes few hrs to get +1 rank after patch 7.2.5. what knowledge does is it's going to increase the amount of power you get from each item, so until you reach rank 40 knowledge, it would be a good idea to stack some AP items as reaching AK 40 now takes just few days.

and with AK 40 you will get every weapon up to concordance in a week or so.

The bracers because they actually give you some bonus damage when you're out of fury and spamming throw to fill out globals.
Boots are good on that imp island world quest though. You just see a big group of them spawn, fel rush once and they all die, it's pretty fun.
I guess you could use the boots in m+ because you should be playing memebeam and not using glaive throw at all.

Not that anyone cares but Oldfag here, stopped playing at the beginning of WotLK and out of boredom I've been watching streams for about a week now.
It's kind of interesting how the focus of the game changed completely, especially for class roles/the individual. Ragestarved warriors? What? Mana management? Not needed any more. Tank losing aggro? Never heard of it.
Instead the only thing you have to care about is not standing in fire. Well, that's not exactly new, but now it's basically 95% of the game.
Also there are so many features now that make life easier for the players, shared realms (which can be a curse if you end up on a shared realm where the opposing faction completely dominates world pvp), dungeon- and raidfinder, etc. (in my days there was just the shared BGs).
On the other hand PUG leaders ask for impossible demands nowadays (like that ahead of the curve achievement).
Can't say I dislike it, in fact the game looks pretty beautiful and polished (they had enough time to do it, after all), but I wouldn't get into it any more, I just missed out on too much stuff and I'm a completionist.
