Tanking (at least as WAR) is piss-easy but you can't really zone out either lest a SAM steal aggro from you cause you didn't swap targets.

Just Overpower after each 1-2-3 combo and you're good. PLD is alright too, I couldn't tell you anything about DRK. Never touched it.

The sense of accomplishment on learning and clearing the various fights in this game is honestly a big part of why people continue to play.

Great ambiance, memorable/unique boss designs, reasonable fight mechanics that usually keep everybody feeling like they contribute to the outcome of a fight in a meaningful way, and relatively acceptable difficulty margins = great feeling of accomplishment when you clear a fight you've been stuck on for a while.

Shield Oath = tanking stance, you have increased enmity and take less damage. You also deal less damage.

Sword Oath = dps stance/offtank stance, no damage penalty and your auto attacks get a buff.

Swap when you feel it's safe in terms of enmity control and incoming damage.

The only purpose Shield Oath has is to gain enough aggro to be safe (safe = never lose aggro; even if someone comes 1 pixel close) and to make up for retarded healers (hopefully never). You basically want to use it for 1-2 threat combos at the start of a fight and then drop it for Sword Oath for the rest.

Stay in Shield Oath to build aggro. Swap to Sword when you have the lead by a good amount. If your healer is shit then stay in Shield Oath.

On bosses you can pretty much Sword Oath after the first combo because your only combo until 54 is your aggro combo (Rage of Halone).

Well, they said the first tier was gonna be around Creator difficulty meaning that it's not going to be difficult at all. And from a story standpoint, it would make sense for it to not be too entirely difficult since we're starting at the lowest of the low and the difficulty should only go up after this tier.

Squeenix has no fucking clue what they're doing in terms of the i270 gear; i320's will simply be better due to STR becoming larger on the left-side combined with more secondary stats on the i320's.

Do remember that the more strength you have, the less relative gain you gain from the 53strength differential and that tanks have base 0 DH regardless of gear, so the 76DH is a straight up 0.5% gain

Because DRGs lack defensive cooldowns that tanks have. The HP of a Vitality tank is just a safety cushion. With Strength tanks, you're punished more if they fuck up their cooldowns than a Vitality tank, but if the Strength tank does use their defensive cooldowns properly then the extra Vitality is a cushion you aren't making use of

Hello /xivg/. I want to learn WHM/healing in general better, I have WHM at 60 but I might as well have boosted it (leveled it solely through FATEs/Beast Tribe quests/hunt bills) since I have no idea what I'm doing. Is it better to start from the bottom, i.e. healing Sastasha? Or should I start at the first level 60 dungeons where things don't hit as hard but I have my entire toolkit? Are <tt> macros ever good for healers (I use them on my BRD for Minne and Palisade)? Any other tips for new healers? I want to try and level it to 70 the proper way this time, i.e. through dungeons and trials. Please and thank you!

Low level dungeons won't teach you anything.
Lv60 feels about the same as Lv70 except Lv70 gives you unlimited mana.

For now, just focus on using Divine Seal Regen on the tank and DPSing while using your oGCDs to keep them up then a Cure 2 after busters.

That underwater city actually has a really interesting lore.

Legend says after scholars were put into exile by their friends they summoned a primal that cried salty tears for years forming the lake you're now swimming on. As the salt crystallized and as if magically it started forming walls and rooms so they could work as a new home for the now homeless scholar mains. Legend says they're yet to find a way to drain that lake though.
