Just give it a move to let it "overload" the phial or whatever, and temporarily give all the phial effects (sans mind's eye) to axe mode as well.

So about MHW's divide between single player and multiplayer. Apparently single player and multiplayer are combined into 1 now so I assume village and guild quests are combined into 1 now.
Now if that's the case, here's the problem, village quests were original balanced against 1 player while guild quests against 2 players but if they combined the quests together then every single quest would have to be balanced against 1 player. This would mean if you group up for them, it'll be even easier than before since it was balanced for 2 players before. Thoughts?

I thought about dynamic scaling too and it makes sense if you start the quest off with multiple people already, but if you're fighting it solo and you flare for help, having the hp dynamically scale upwards seems counterintuitive to the flare for help mechanic and people would probably bitch about it like "why call for help when the mob's hp is going to increase?".

That's true actually, it does have a couple of weird hitboxes but it's mostly really straightforward. The thing with zinogre is that it's too easy to hit its weakpoints, it practically moves its head into all of your attacks (which is really funny given pic related). I wouldn't consider it fair because it practically hands its ass to you on a silver platter.

But yeah the whole point of fatalis is that MH was a somewhat gritty and "realistic" fantasy world, and then fatalis was some straight high fantasy swords and sorcery shit whose Japanese name is literally "Mirabilis" (miraculous, unexplainable) that came out of the sky, sent an enormous but "mundane" dragon (lao shan) packing and returned to an ancient kingdom it had ruined overnight centuries prior to dwell there. IIRC one of its weapon descriptions suggests that it is also the only monster with both the intelligence to have the concept of evil and the will to kill and destroy for fun, though those seem largely to be snippets of in-setting beliefs (such as all the stuff about Ukanlos, Akantor and Dalamadur being sometimes-beneficent, sometimes-malevolent deities that created the world, which obviously isn't actually true). It's something completely alien to the world of Monster Hunter, which is mostly devoid of magic and sincere evil, which made it stand out more as a final boss.

Alatreon is third gen. I'm talking about first gen, the one with only 3 elder dragons, one of which was fatalis. Alatreon is also literally a fatalis expy. Tri was all new, mostly better versions of old monsters and alatreon was the new, worse fatalis.

By Dos they were already normalising Elders and making magic a more concrete part of the setting, but in 1 there were only Fatalis, Kirin and Lao Shan, and Lao Shan to this day is still the least "magical" elder dragon (the closest it exhibits to a magical ability, apart from badly defying the square cube law which most monsters do to a lesser extent anyway, is making rocks fall by yelling really loud). Kirin's remote lightning and Fatalis's existence were the only "magical" things in the setting back then.
