It's been confirmed that you do. Just hope the units aren't nerfed.

And if you're not particularly attached to Tidus, sure. He's a very solid unit still used on JP, but all three of Cloud, 2B and OK are great units as well. And 2B comes with the best katana in the game.

That said Cloud will probably take a while, unless they decide to release him way early for whatever reason.

Nier was only released a month or two ago in JP which is normally over half a year ahead of global, so Gumi might want to prevent power creep if the event ha[[ens within the next couple months. Personally I don't think it'll happen, they're not THAT much stronger than what we have now in global. Not nearly the same power difference as when Noctis was nerfed and was still the best character in the game until Orlandu came out.

And...? Nem had that too, dude. VII synergy is only available, but Seph doesn't punish players for multiple characters from the same realm. There's also no slow status to worry about, no punishment to physical attackers, and certainly no 100k attack every three turns in the final phase.

We'll see how MP Nemesis compares with Despair Sephiroth & 2nd anniversary Nemesis, whenever that fucking comes out

Mercedes and Shine are the better damage dealers there, plus their TMR are good. And yeah, the green shards are only for him. You don't "lose" them but the summon banner for him only goes until July 27, so you won't be able to do anything with them after that.
And don't forget that you need an extra 60 of them to awaken Kelsus to 6*.

As far as IV goes, I still like the original one better and the PSP version is pretty much a straight port of it. But the DS/Steam version is still pretty good and has some different content, as well as changing the battle system enough that it's like playing another game.

The augment system is something that you might want to look up ahead of time though, since it involves giving abilities to people that are going to leave your party permanently in exchange for different abilities. So if you haven't played it before I imagine it would be a serious pain in the ass.

Just don't get After Years along with it if you're interested, emulate the PSP Complete Collection version instead.

Marie's the definition of a niche but useful unit. She's the best green mage in the game and is really useful in fights where enemies use random elements, though arguably Rikku might make her less relevant in this regard. Also she has easily one of the best TMs in the game.

As for Fohlen I'd recommend using him and a friend Fohlen for chaining, if you have a good finisher like Firion I'd put him on your team as well.

A complex question. Star Quartz are difficult to accumulate in great numbers, but nearly everything that can be purchased from them has superior TMR or event options. The value of Star Quartz is thus a spectrum of options that depend on what you have, what you will get, and what you can never get.
The only truly priceless Star Quartz item is Man-Eater. Man-Eater cannot be replaced by TMRs or event gear, cannot have an alternative.
Curaja has no use for most healers. It eats a materia slot, but it enables non-healers such as WoL to take up healing duty. It can't be replaced by equipment, but since it's so prolific naturally, it's often useless to have.

Note that it doesn't enable Marie, however. Anon got something wrong. She doesn't have the White Magic level 6 required to equip Curaja.

I don't think worth dispelling King Mog's buff since it only boosts DEF/SPR, you have reapply debuffs, and there's a chance that he'll reapply it on the next turn.

I'd say you have 2 options. One is, if you have the Large Sword Mastery from the Dark Espers trial, you could farm Save the Queen. There's also a slightly weaker non-elemental greatsword you get for getting all the Aurora keys. The second is to farm Blade Mastery and give her either Genji Blade from the Gilgamesh trial or the katana from Lasswell's story trial. Personally I'd go for the second, the first choice will give you very slightly higher attack but eventually there will be slightly stronger greatswords while Blade Mastery is basically futureproof.

Chains can do a lot in arena, you misunderestimate them.

A fully ramped up chain does 3996 damage per hit. You can dual element chain (or even triple element chain if you're an absolute madman) to hit this cap very quickly.

maybe if you have 5 setzers, but most of the time, you don't have 5 units that can do massive aoe chains. More realistic to just dualcast with mages and do 2x 999.

This is a about as far as I can get with Vaan at 80, no native wind BSB besides Zack and Fujin but mixing attackers here sounds like a bad idea and of course no Cloud USB to RW. I've been RWing Luneth's BSB for the enWind but i just run out of steam here in the last stretch which is the most important part with this fucker healing 9k out of any damage he takes.
I wish I had Fang's BSB2, that'd help an awful lot. Hell I could RW Finishing Touch or Soaring Spear with it and finish this god forsaken last 200k~ with ease

Nigga pay attention, triple elemental chains means you need VERY few hits to increase the damage. Especially if you spark.

The second hit of a triple-elemental spark does 2197 damage. The third hit (and all subsequent hits) do 3996.
ANY two units with an AoE elemental skill can pull this off.

I have both Fang BSB2 and OSB. Doesn't fucking help. She can't do it on her own. My only other damage comes from OK OSB and a lvl99 Luneth hitting him with breakdowns for around 8k and from Alph's radiant shield.
I took him so far that there was barely any health left, but then everything ran out and i was fucked, so I'm going to wait till I can tear him a new one with Cloud.
Also, your character being infused with an element doesn't affect your RW.
Materias like Sword DMG up do however, if the RW has a sword equipped.
