Balancing issues - goodbye, WL soulburn skill resets
RNG Soul - With Blackwyrm removed, there are even less evolved stones rolling around which makes sacred oils even more expensive. Making the True Hongmoon/True Ascending completely fucking random is the cherry on top.
Gem changes - I sure hope you didn't have any alts, because now it's stupidly too expensive to mail gems around.
"E-Sports" - The worst to me, as it's probably the most jewish thing I've seen from NCSoft so far. It's absolutely insulting, along with some facets being completely baffling. Why make a rule that anyone who wants to participate in the fucking tournament can't buy any of the boxes? Why is the prize pool capped at 400k, with any overfill just going completely into company profits?

In all my years of bouncing around online titles of varied origins and creeds, never before has my opinion on the future of an MMO shifted so drastically within the span of a single patch. I cannot state with any degree of certainty that my anticipation for future updates will be particularly high, after witnessing the new distinctly predatory norms firmly established today.

The other versions still have content we havent caught up to but I guess this is where the tricky part comes in. How to catch NA/EU up without throwing what little balance of everything we have off

If they catch us up too quick, it buries F2P even more. but if they do it too slow whales complain that they're bored and demand something new to do even though they're a small percent of the population and actually end up making things worse when they do this. If they dont throw in new things often it also makes them look bad

I suppose I'll throw in my two cents because why not.

I think the general is dying due to its focus on targeted shitposting. Anyone naive or uncaring enough to regularly attach a face to their posts becomes the target of concentrated vitriol, for as long as you remain in the foreground. As far as I know, there hasn't been an exception.

I've been here a relatively short time (though it's hard to believe it's been over six months already!), and I've seen people come and go. They join, they avatarfag, they get run out. Some survive the trial by fire and remain to play with us, albeit much more quietly. But when the initial reaction is "you're not welcome here, fuck off", they're much more reluctant to actually contribute anything.

There also is an animosity held between regions that I've not seen in any other MMO community. EU players are viewed as the 'others' and are treated with contempt. They get ran out of the thread and now EU has their own splinter community, so all you really see of them now are the vocals who come to shitpost, post "xth for Y", and maybe a lobby or two.

Although anonymity is the very foundation of 4chan, I think it's a detriment to this general. The /bnsg/ community is small enough that the people you regularly play with can also be the ones forcing drama the hardest. This has become clear when clan or Discord chats are brought up to belittle someone. While some people who are pointed out as being two-faced may or may not actually be so, it really is happening, and personally I find it unacceptable.

This all leads to Discord. I think the migration to Discord is the result of the thread dying, rather than being a major contributor. Why bother posting here when I'll just become the next boogeyman and have my name forced into every possible negative thing? There's no anonymity in Discord, so people are mindful of what they say, lest there be consequences. People chat and laugh and have actual fun. It's what this thread is supposed to be.

It started out with everyone being fresh, new, and in love with the game happy to meet each other. Then rivalries began and petty fights broke out and some left. Then petty fights turned into drama storms that somehow managed to span over months, but all of that ended right about the time server merges came out

But by then, most had already retreated into discords to peacefully exist. This includes EU who were run out sometime before the merges although I can't remember why. One can only assume it was over some stupid bullshit reason that doesn't actually matter anymore.
A lot of people were indeed turned off by all the shit-flinging, myself included although I always tended to post rarely anyway. Uhh then all this gay ass fuckin moderation shit came in and now its just hopeless

I don't know man. We're fucked. Nothings good enough to appease the thread-lords anymore, their autism truly knows NO bounds and most just can't deal with it. I sure as hell can't man fuck all that noise.

I think community and interaction is extremely important to an MMO. If I hadn't gotten attached to friends I made here, I would have quit within a couple weeks. I want to see it grow, but the current attitude is running counter to that. Even if people to push past the initial shitposting and develop a thicker skin, they'll still come out cynical or quieter as a result. That doesn't really help.

I think between Server transfers and more people using discord has left little to desire in posting, specially when there is always a chance for someones post to be met with anonymous severity.

I think this is what gets me the most.

EU isn't getting culturally enriched fast enough or trying to uncuck themselves and despite discord being a big issue, it's also a good solution because you're ID'd and have to think before you say.

Personally, I were to propose, I would have bnsg dissolved and merged into the cesspool called mmog since most discussion (drama) has been regurgitated, most coordinated activities including DC lobbies has been moved to discord or kept within the in game chat, and most helpful faces/anons have more or less covered by the veil of anonymity if not has shy away from this shit pit of a general.

To be honest, as long as posters here remain anonymous, I don't think it can be easily fixed. I'm convinced that the majority of shitposting comes from a handful of anons, and if people do the sensible thing and ignore them, they'll resort to samefagging in order to fan the flames.

But at the same time, I don't want to just give up and leave the thread for dead. I don't think there's any easy solution as long as there's those people that are autistic enough to dedicate so much time to shitting up the thread.

If I had to suggest anything, it would be a little jumpstart by funposting. Adding more to this, I think what's also important is reaching an understanding with each other. The anon who insists on reporting anything that isn't "game related". You have to show yourself.
You have to engage yourself in the conversation if you really care about the general lasting. And I don't just mean the threads by that, I mean the guilds and the raids as well because they are all intertwined and the death of one will be the death of all

Once we cut ourselves off from the general, once we lose the threads everything else will be lost in only a matter of time as well. It will happen. It already has, many times in other games and once here as well with the first /vg/ guild we had.
You need to understand why what you're doing is wrong and how it's making things worse.

Then, of course as a community we need to take a tougher stance on "drama" and shitflinging. Once those things can be faced then the rest would be easy.
It's honesty just a matter of getting people to relax and feel comfortable here again.

If anyone wants to talk about this I'm always open and around for it. I consider the social side of /bnsg/ to be just as crucial and counted as players as the dedicated farming side
