Think bigger scale than that. We arent talking about starchart or sorties level damage. Just about any build can clear trash like that. CO gets its benefit from high status melee weapons on hard to kill enemies

It's obnoxious. You get used to it after a couple missions, and Animal Instinct makes it easy enough to see drops. Just a playstyle change to go hunting loot.

vacuum is very important for new players who don't have all the mods, endo and credits in the world. They shouldn't have to hump resource containers and corpses as a core gameplay mechanic.

Energy and ammo are a big inconvenience to pick up with ammo hungry weapons in something like Sortie 3 eximus stronghold, pub, with flamewalls etc.

The difference between having that 25 energy to CC or recast defensive skill is really important.

I already have quite a few of those, and I already build Rhino to use as few (little?) energy as possible. I didn't see the need for power or duration on him, I'd rather use stomp more often that for it to last more seconds, but I see the use for either. Now I'm trying to build Oberon on +power, I'll see what I get with that.
To be honest I loved excal's 1, 3 and even 2 situationally but it stopped being useful once I reached Saturn or so (even though I hadn't any corrupted mods at that point), and then Rhino which means not getting grappled every second by ancients/scorpions, and oh my god also NOT BEING STATUS'D EVERY GODDAMN SHOT.
