FNAF 4. I remember when there was still doubt and some pretty well-constructed arguments about how the Nightmares were spooky due to a clever contrast between the safe and familiar domestic setting and the over-designed edginess of the bots, but I always had a feeling there was nothing subtle about it and Scott at that point was out of ideas and just pandering to what small children thought was cool and "scary".

You see, I sort of liked World, or at least I appreciated it. I saw it as Scott taking a break from maintaining a horror franchise and going back to what he seems to like doing the most: lighthearted and wacky RPGs with darker undertones and meta humor beneath them. I was disappointed in that it didn't have the same depth or complexity as The Desolate Hope's combat system and I wish he spent more time fixing bugs and polishing it, but I certainly had some fun with it and it didn't disappoint me nearly as much as FNAF 4 before it and SL afterwards did.

There aren't really that many Shadow Bonnies. There might be some C-lister OCfag or two that I'm forgetting, though. I think from a story perspective, Starchy's done the most with the character and that's what I'm more interested in. 70 pages into The Twisted Ones and there's already more gore and explicit violence than the entirety of the first book. Charlie's introspection is still annoying, but I haven't fallen asleep yet like I did with Silver Eyes. Maybe this won't be so bad.

A springtrap suit victim is found in a field and his corpse is described for about two pages, blood and gore is dragged through the remains of the old Freddy's. Dave's body is found and four pages are spent lovingly describing how gruesomely mutilated he is, Charlie plays with his corpse a bit. There's even some black comedy tossed in here and there. It's not up to par with most writefags here, but it's already a significant improvement over Silver Eyes just for not having 200 pages of fucking filler before anything interesting happens.

Going off of this and the earlier leaks, I think Afton has duplicates of different people.

That would explain why Charlie finds her own corpse, and why William has a corpse clone for mutilation.
If Scott adapts any of this to the games, I'd say it's fairly likely that "Michael" is actually one of these creations, just given independence. It's really unlikely for him to be the older brother, and the younger brother's dead.

God knows why William would make it look like himself, though.

I was happy to see Charlie is more interesting this time around. Like an autistic mad scientist who isn't aware she's creeping out everyone around her. Then John came back and there are the awful romantic plot tumors that majorly hurt the Silver Eyes. I hope he dies this book. Glad the cast is cut to three main characters instead of six this time.

Carlton, the only good character from the first book, is in college and never mentioned again. The black kid hasn't been mentioned at all. On page 170 now and so far the only recurring characters are Charlie, Jessica, John, and strangely Carlton's dad, the deputy who is discretely assisting Charlie in finding whoever is doing the springtrap murders.

It's very disconnected from not just FNAF but also the first book. Tone is far darker and a bit on the surreal side, since Charlie's trauma from the first book seems to have unhinged her and toxins of some sort are in play, a quarter of the book is hallucinated by her (maybe, hard to say). I'd say it's for the best, the writing isn't professional level but Kira has gotten a little better, but the constant introspection is still a problem. Pacing is way better due to being two hundred pages shorter than Silver Eyes. So far it seems simpler, but more cohesive and better put together.

It has some awkward dialogue, mostly from John, but so far it's addressed a lot of my issues with Silver Eyes well enough. It's okay so far. Not good, but not awful.

My preferred method for writing these types of stories is third person semi-omniscient. I think I wrote one or two stories in second person, and kept catching myself switching back and fourth between "you" and "he." My favorite method to write in is actually first person narration, since I can basically just tell the story to myself in my head and then write that down. It doesn't lend itself too well to lewds, but I wrote a pretty okay horror story like that once, way way back in the day.

Don't get me wrong, I really dig the simple "and then they fucked" stories as long as the writing is solid and I like the scenario, but I always try to add a bit of depth into my fics when I can.
