I have nothing against Alistair, I think he's cool, but Zevran is actually shaped like the best dad in the group there. He isn't afraid of commitment and he even tells Shale that making kids can be a great deal of fun. He is also the only LI from DAO who stays with the Warden no matter what and he would pander and spoil his kids immensely. Just because he loves sex and his past is a mess, doesn't mean he wouldn't care for them, all the opposite.

If Maric and Cailan are anything to go by, Alistair would be the exact opposite. He either would be the funny, Peter Pan-like father that makes his children laugh but can't actually teach them anything worthwile, or the distant, "I don't know how to love you" kind of father like Maric was because the crown weighs on him too much.

Comfy /dag/ is nice. I like talking lore and theories, but it's good to take a break from being so deadly serious all the time.

That seemed way too cruel and he wouldn't be a good king anyway. Better leave Anora finally free to take all the glory for herself instead of doing all the work from behind the scenes while her inept husband takes the credit.

Even if Alistair is king in the Bioware canon, I feel like they want you to know he isn't very happy with it. In the comics he outright says he does it just because he feels he has a duty towards Ferelden and it's mentioned multiple times in DA:O how inexperienced and naive he would be.

Gaider's books also seem to confirm his fate, he basically relives his father's life: forced to take a throne he didn't really want and to make hard choices while saying goodbye to his freedom and every scrap of normalcy he ever knew. That's why he gets so serious and bitter in the comics and DAI, just like Maric.

Leliana is now out of the scene: if she's Divine, she can't possibly come back as spymaster and if she's not, the slides in Trespasser say that she trained Harding and Charter to be her successors.

Considering the attention Charter got in the comics and Harding's presence at the end of Trespasser, in front of that new War Table, I'd say they will be respectively the new spymaster and one of the new rogue companions.

And I doubt a random nobody from Orlais stumbling into Tevinter will be asked to take care of such a delicate mission. The Inquisitor isn't invalid, they can still fight, and I can't stop thinking how their return would actually improve the game.

I think we'll see the Inquisitor, but I don't know that they'll be taking a very active role. Even aside from being short an arm, their future changes depending on who they romanced. It's just too nebulous. That said, I wouldn't mind playing as mine again if that's what it turns out to be - though I like that we get a different character for every game. It makes the world feel bigger and more organic when there's not just one person doing all of the Very Important Things.

This worked perfectly with Shepard and Awakening, though. You get some cameos, other characters acknowledge your romance, you receive some letters et voilà. I really can't imagine the Inquisitor giving this mission (a mission that is basically theirs, since Solas and the Qunari are directly their responsibility) to a poor fellow who never met Solas and doesn't know shit about all the world-changing lore the Inquisitor discovered.

Not to say that the Inquisitor as a NPC would never work, they don't have a precise, stereotyped personality like Hawke. That's also one of the reasons the Warden can't come back, coincidentally.

Even if you didn't disband the Inquisition, the Inquisitor will probably leave the organization and act from the shadows all the same. They will probably have better gears, more contacts, and a wider array of allies, but the premise would pretty much be the same.

Giving the Inquisition to the Chantry and Orlais was basically condemning it to eternal servitude, Dorian makes that clear.

Raw lyrium has no connection with the Blight, the Blight is a self-defense mechanism employed by the dead Titans against the Ancient Elves. The dead Titan's blood (lyrium) decayed over time and turned into Red lyrium, which contained the Blight. Corypheus' Call was Blight magic, so I don't think he could have influenced Fenris.
