Distribution of frames for each second. It doesn't matter if the game is running at 60 fps, if the frames are just being thrown in the screen caressly, it will still looks like shit, even worse than a game at 30 fps with good frame pacing.

Good frame pacing for 60 fps is stable 16.6ms between each frame, for 30 fps it is 33.3ms.

Weapons of purple rarity and higher can have elements, wind debuff on enemy cuts its attack. If weapon rolls weaken melee weapons this works as well and stacks with wind (not sure this trait even rolls on purples though). Putting some points in magic and getting wind talisman works as well

I'm dying tons to bosses too. I find in souls/BB I'll die a few times figuring out a bosses moveset, but sometimes I can just sort of brute force my way through with healing items/armour. In nioh you really can only afford to get hit a few times by most bosses, especially since they often do more than 50% of your HP with a single hit. It's way more punishing. A tip I'd say is at not everything has to be iframe dodged, infact sometimes it's better to just sprint around attacks. Don't rely on living weapon either.

I died at least 20 times to the first boss, the whole mission kicked my ass. Went back shortly after to do it as a twilight mission and shitstomped the whole area.

is it just me or is there nothing to spend money on? I'm level 41 with almost 300k money. All the gear I find is really good, I never need to buy items. The only thing I've seen that is costly is soul matching, bringing a level 16 exotic 2kat up to level 44 was about 180k.

you shouldn't play as a stance, stances are supposed to be swapped all the time and early abilities let you ki pulse while swapping stances. low for dodging, mid for blocking, high for attack power. high stance is noticebly sluggish for dodging. low stance dodge behind shit, swap to high, lay the pain, lowstance pulse and dodge away again. you can mid stance block some boss attacks, but some of them will chunk your ki and you have to dodge.

Overextend slightly, use that little bit too much Ki and suddenly you get hit once to empty your Ki and then the boss piledrives you HP to nothing. Nue is a very common enemy in the game and has varying stats depending on where you fight him. He's the boss of the second mission and that's probably where he's the weakest. He's also in the mission with the cat guy, some of the onmyou trials and other missions aswell. You'll see once you get to NG+ that enemies can have different stats because it's literally just the same game on a higher level and very few additional enemies placed in missions.

Anyone knows why kara-jishi is popular? Don't see what so good is about this spirit aside from damage boost on skill use

nioh is about my limit for input complexity. I really like these sorts of games, but I absolutely hate it when you start having a million different attacks that require precise button combos to pull off. Icontrols to rely on pure timing rather than playing my controller like a keyboard if that makes sense. Have combat depth acheived with a variety of weapons with unique movesets instead.

Anyone know a good third-party PS2 controller?

Most of the ones out there have some fuckery associated with them. I'm trying to get one that doesn't have analogue stick deadzones bigger than an official Dualshock has. It needs to have pressure-sensitive face buttons.

I don't give a shit about the d-pad, it can be shit, because I won't be using it.

Used PS2 controllers are always a gamble. I bought one off ebay recently and the l1 and r1 buttons were kind of spongy. They lacked the click they should have. Face buttons occasionally got stuck. I don't know if the analogue sticks are secretely shit or if Ico has just had more erratic and dated controls than I remember. Protagonist kind of slows down briefly whenever I'm running around the place.
