I think there would be more men running around the commonwealth being adventurers.

I think Isabel might have been a companion at one point in development, it would be cool. Sparks would accompany her and she'd be in her Mechanist outfit.

A quest where you help Haylen with a task, that lets her become a knight and get some armor. Afterwards, she becomes a companion.

There is a mission where Ingram accompanies you, and she's more than capable. She could have been a full time companion, after you do the ship fuel quest. She can spend time out and about instead of constantly at the ship if you get fuel for her.

Glory could easily be a companion without even having to do mental gymnastics or do a quest.

There could also just as easily be a female courser like X6 and you choose one.

Jet, the amphetamine sold as Jet, is pre-war, it's made from feeding cows and later brahmin pre-war artificial protein feed. The cows were culled before the war because of the contamination, Myron in Fallout 2 discovered some contaminated feed and it's effects when some slaves were digging up brahmin shit and got high. The pre-war amphetamine was probably called Jet too since Myron is ambiguous about if he came up with the name or just "found" it like everything else, he's a magic mushroom guy not a chemist.

The question is why one can make Jet in 2290 with Brahmin fed razorgrain or corn or foraged grass turned into manure. Jet is a pre-war synthetic protein consumed and converted in a cow/brahmin's digestive track. Random fertilizer won't make jet.

Outside of getting a new GPU, there's unfortunately no stopping the textures fucking up. But you can make it less frequent by tweaking your graphical settings. Try putting this under [TerrainManager] in Fallout4Prefs.ini

It's like other anon's said. I never ran around with Piper till I did this RP, and i'm glad I did it honestly. She doesn't have any useful combat skills, but she does have a nice personality.

Also, I changed Piper's outfit a little, I wanted a vest with this for a while and I got tipped off to a mod that had one. I wish I had a Army helmet that said press on it, I'd throw that on her too.

Anyone else dealing with persistent CTD when trying to fast travel? I'm not entirely sure what's causing it but all of a sudden, almost every time I fast travel it crashes about a second after the loading starts, before the spinning model shows up.

I can still load cells, enter and exit buildings, but fast travel crashes nine out of ten times.

Also, is it just me, or does FONV's gunplay feel really awful after playing 4? Like, I had to stop playing 4 because I couldn't handle how much of a disappointment it was, but it does a couple of things alright, one of which is the gunplay just feels better to me, personally. The ability to lean around cover, and have enemies who take cover and do the same, instead of having them stand out in the open was nice.

I want Piper to grow 100 feet tall and enslave everyone in the Commonwealth, living out her days as a goddess and using the unlucky inhabitants as sex toys or snacks, while they are forced to worship her beautiful body!

Basically:
1. Build workshop "Ammunition plant"
2. Build workshop 'Storage", attached so it's conveyor links with the Ammo Plant part.
3. Build a computer terminal, connect it's wire to the ammo plant.
4. Connect the ammo plant to enough power to power it, the storage and the terminal.

Ammo plant built.

Now use the terminal to select what kind of ammo you want.

Put the raw materials for the ammo, should be fertilizer + steel, in the ammo plant. The factory will now build 10x 5mm ammo every second and send it to the conveyor storage unit.

Get mods that put guns in their proper place, along with npcs. Your minigun is heavy, the 2000 rounds you bring out are going to break your back, and you'll probably have room left for a sidearm or two at best.

But you can change the fact that enemies have sponge amounts of health, and only encamp/patrol in certain arbitrary group sizes that bethesda thinks you can handle at once.

You can change the fact that your minigun sprays fine grain sand at its target and make all guns feel like efficient instruments of death.

You can change your own spongy health pool so that encounters are deadly if not handled with the right tactics or tools.

You can add spawn density to make the commonwealth truly a war zone that needs specialist weapons like miniguns and fatman launchers instead of taking everything from radroaches to deathclaws with the same upgraded ballistic rifle you've been using since level 14.

>tl;dr you don't need heavy weapons, just walk up with your handmade rifle and mag dump into everything, and loot every corpse from the quick menu while being shot at, it doesn't matter anyway

everytime I play fallout I end up running sniper

for a single unit there's realistically no attack method more effective or sustainable than long range fire from stealth

I don't think so? At least, they weren't swimming when I got there, I couldn't say if they do that at some point or not, honestly.

I think I've had a couple minor problems so far, the enemy AI has been exceptionally stupid in a few cases, but I don't know if that's TTW doing it or if I'm just not used to FONV's enemies from being away from the game for so long.

The only other problem I had of note was Lucy West somehow got stuck in this area her pathing didn't understand how to get out of, so I had to use the console to kill and move/resurrect her, so she'd walk back to Moriarty's saloon.

Yeah it's pretty fucking stupid of Bethesda, that's one of the few instances I'd honestly be fine with NPCs being set to essential, because you can end up losing a fairly valuable merchant because they didn't realize how stupid an idea that is.

Luckily, playing on PC sort of allows for a fix through the console, but if I was still playing on my 360 I'd be pretty pissed off.

Merchant Caravans in FO3 had extensive patrol routes, I'm amazed they survived as long as they did when I first played, probably helped that I had actor/draw distance set low back then so they were unloaded before they reached something hostile.

Still, this route would have been a perfect place to have it patrolled by mercenaries (non hostile talon mercs?) and random merchants and travelers. Encourage the player to explore the world by following an NPC around to see where they went.

Are there any mods or console commands that will make some people not hostile anymore?

I ask because I've already completed the main Nuka World questline with the Operators, and now I'm going to turn on them and send the minutemen in to fuck them all up because my character is a good guy (already used a mod to skip raiding commonwealth settlements), but I'd like to keep that guy running the arcade and maybe a few other NPCs like Gage or Mags because I like them. In fact I'd like to keep all of the Operators if they weren't raiders and were mercs instead, but I'm sure that mod doesn't exist so I'll just take all their gear and put it on my settlers. It's such a pain to have to force RP this hard in an "RPG".

Yeah, you stumbled on the facet of Bethesda games since Oblivion that the stealth archer is the most overpowered build.

While FO3/NV aren't the most precise games for a shooter, there are plenty of movement and cover options in the game. Especially with mods to improve animations and movement via sprint and different jumping, I like playing the game as a "casual" third-person shooter myself, works with most gun types. Melee and Unarmed with explosives works well too, you can do those without being a bullet sponge (use agility and run around cover to close the distance).
Worst aspect with FO3/NV is the dumbshit combat AI, NPCs always generally just unload with their ranged while they close the distance. It'd be nice if shooters would stop and crouch while the sustained fire at their target instead of moving toward them all the time.

That's not a bethesda thing.

Stealth archer is the strongest way to start and finish any combat, everything from lone guerillas and fire teams to tanks go for stealth archery when time and conditions permit. People have known this ever since people have been around.

If this game wasn't made for a generation of casuals who struggle with joysticks and triggers, combat would be difficult and dangerous enough that you can't just pop a jet, walk up to an enemy and blow his head off while sucking down stimpacks like oxygen. If you haven't already modded your game out of bethesda's shitty balance and AI, I feel bad for you. And you can make the stealth aspect more engaging than "crouch walk through open and well lit path, get right under enemy's nose, shoot head with silenced gun, repeat" by, again, de-casualizing your game with mods.

If you aren't a stealth archer at some point, your game is too easy.

Remove him from all factions and disable his AI while you're attacking Nuka-World with the Minutemen. When you're finished, add him to the Minutemen faction and then reenable his AI.

This applies to other characters from Nuka-World you want to live as well. Be aware it may cause bugs with the dialogue after all Nuka-World raiders are dead.
