Is WD going to be the first expansion that will barely change the meta? There are lots of strong cards like Emeralda, Snow and Golden Lion but I don't see any of them close to 3 big mistakes in ToG ( Eacthar, Grimnir, Sibyl)

As the card pool increases in size new sets are going to have less and less of an impact, you see this every time in card games. Making cards he summons get banished is useless.

Eachtar would need insanely heavy nerfs to make him acceptable and at that point no one would play him and everyone gets x3 3500 vials.

Hey guys! Theorycraftfag with Tabletop sim back from yesterday.

Before the expansion hits, I'm probably going to run a simulation tournament where I pit 4 TotG meta decks (Mid Shadow, Ramp Dragon, KYS Blood, Aegis Haven) vs 4 Theorycrafted decks from WoD (Neutral Sword, Garuda Haven ft Tin Man, 2 choices not decided on yet).

I'll post updated results on /svg/ for anyone who wants to keep up with it for the sake of getting a clear image of the meta. I'll also link decklists when I'm about to start the playtesting. I'm gonna make a strawpoll in the meantime to help determine which other 2 decks I should put on the WoD side. It'll help me greatly if you fill this out for me :)

I decided to play Shadow for the 5 ranked match reward. (I am A rank).

Only legs are 2 echtars, no catacomb because vialed. No death breath.

Managed to get 5 win and 2 lose.

Echtar was useless because I never drawn him.
Orthus is beyond broken, probably one of the best silver card.
Even if I didn't draw Echtar, opponent was so scared of it that they prefered to kill my minions instead of going face and winning next turn at turn 7/8/9

If this is the best thing blood gets, fine. It DID need it, Vengeance is great and balanced right now, this is just the kind of card that keeps it fair even when other crafts get new shiny toys.

It's Cudgel, but destroy instead of banish. And in return, no evo, but self damage. It's up to you whether eating 2 face damage in early game is a negligible risk like with KYS, but most of the time you don't want to let a 2/2 hit you in the face on T4.

Playing cudgel on turn 4 when going first is a not optimal play, this guy can drop in on turn 4 and remove something while grinning happily since the enemy now has to waste resources to kill a 4 health mob or get beaten up his ass. And the price is something that BLOOD WANTS. Spiderweb imp's effect is NOT a drawback, but a positive effect. This card is beyond busted, literally what non-aggro blood decks saw in their wet dreams, the holy grail of tempo swing that fucks up the hordes of grimnirs that stopped those decks from seeing the ligth of the day during the enirety of totg.

Sword is going to be mediocre. It'll be neutral oriented. Princess' Kiss will steal wins, Cinderella isn't bad and neither is Red Riding Hood, but it got nothing to compete with the new broken shit every other craft got, or more specifically blood

The more I think about it the more obvious it is that Blood is going to be Tier 0 and nothing will even come close

All crafts got some average cards and a few good ones, Blood got exclusively broken cards. Every single card they got this release was busted in one way or another.
