I wouldn't worry, RDM will definitely fall off as the expansion goes on. I don't think the class seems terribly hard or anything but a lot of "DRG mains" will drop it when they realize it's more caster than melee and people complain about them not using their utilities even if the final DPS rotation is simple.

It was great that the final boss was him and as Warhammer character at that. But my fists find no joy in slaying a mindless beast.

On a side note, I didn't actually expect to be moved by Gosetsu's death so much. He was a cool character, with a ton of death flags raised, but he died in such a shitty way. He got shot down by the worst possible fucking character where her backstory was "waaah my life sucks". If he died in other way, even just being crushed to death from the whole keep falling on him, that's fine. But now, he died from being shot then crushed, it downplays the weight of the keep if a man who just got shot four times can still hold it up for so long. I guess it also speaks about how powerful he truly was.

Last time I tried to play I think I got to level 30 before getting sick and tired of forced story quests that were boring, uninteresting, dull, and nothing more than chores most of the time. I know they have no intention on fixing this since now they know they can charge people to skip it instead, but is HW/SB content really that much better to be worth it?

I went in hoping for fantasy world war II and I got something that felt like fantasy world war II. Zenos was also a fun villain to fight. I'm reminded of how much I loved Heavensward at launch before the horrible mishandling of the endgame made me not like it very much.

I don't know the numbers on the performance, I just don't think the player base for it will keep. SAM is probably going to be popular forever but when new class smell wears off I really don't think most of the pick ups are going to stick with RDM.

The class strikes me as being really unappealing for casuals going forward.

If you don't wear STR accessories you're fucked as a tank. I did a test earlier with my Monk friend with similar ilvl, I would try to keep agro, he wouldn't quelling. Each test I would start in Shield Oat, do 2x halone 1x gouring then swap to Sword Oath. With STR accessories I was able to do 2600 DPS and never lost agro. With VIT accessories I parsed 2000 DPS and kept agro for 4 minutes after switching to Sword Oath even when doing 1x gouring 1x royal authority 1x halone combo.

Personally I enjoyed the story greatly up to the showdown with Ultima, but I'm the type of person who'd play an MMO for the storytelling. After that, the inbetween to Heavensward was pretty slow and had its ups and downs, and the aforementioned cocksucking was evident though just kind of funny to me.

I wouldn't trade the experience (good or bad) for anything, and I can't imagine just jumping into the Heavensward story with no context for earlier events. I guess you could just do what another anon said and watch the cutscenes on youtube or in the journal, but it doesn't really have the same effect. Maybe I'm just autistic. If you only bought the game to play with friends who are already deep in it, I guess I can understand that.

I don't really care to get filled in on what I missed, from what I've played on the expansion so far, my understanding of the story is that I am a Chosen One who is really good at slaying gods that, when summoned, continue to eat away at the world, thus need to be killed. So between being the ultimate Anti-theist edge lord with my secret-but-not-really society of cool dudes I am part of a war effort to kill a tyrannical empire that has plagued the lands and liberate the shit out of Asia.

And for what it is, I've enjoyed it as a dumb campy ride. I skip most of the cutscenes without dialog, and read some with it. I hardly do the side quests, and I'm having fun with it.

Currently with my i267 Warrior the only job i lose hate to is Red Mage. I have to literally spam Overpower until I'm out of TP to hold AoE hate. Single target hate is perfectly fine one i get past the shitty ass first hit in my Combo that doesn't generate hate so the beginning of a fight goes like this usually.

Best practice would be to make sure most of your shots are focused around your progress in the game, the scenery around your character, highlighting great lighting, taking shots from interesting angles, or highlighting NPCs/cutscenes. Using your avatar's different emote expressions in gpose is tempting, especially when it would be fitting for a reply, and it's even in the spirit of how image board culture should work, but for some reason this triggers a small but vocal minority of posters who see this as making posts about yourself rather then the game. The irony in this is that they in turn derail the thread with their temper tantrums.

Yeah, its better than dungeons even with instant queues. Its debateable whether its even worth it to do roulettes as a tank over just spamming frontlines, because a dungeon might take 20-30 minutes depending, and as a tank in the first roulette of the day, I'll usually get 1.5million xp.

But a frontline is 700-800k in 11-12 minutes, with way less effort, and its almost always shorter than a dungeon. Its a real toss up. Just use the frontline roulette in freelancer mode, and you should get in usually within 5 minutes too. Very difficult to beat those gains.

I don't know, I'm a tank and I just turn https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQNKdZJOZSA on infinite loop and sprint through the whole thing pretending I'm sanic, they usually keep up but having a reliable heal and some great "oh shit" cooldowns as a paladin makes sure I can push the group to complete them pretty damn fast

Doing it on a paladin right now. Clearing mobs etc for MSQ is a bit slow but the instant queue times easily make up for it i think? The 2xp is pretty insane. You never have to touch a side quest.

As a tank, I can usually make off with 1.5million xp in about 12-13 mins if I push it, so it can be if you are a tank and can push it in terms of speed
