if youre going red mage you need to look at the clothing, a fencer will look good in a light coat with wither no sleeves or tight long sleeves the coat itself needs to retain a bit of flair to emphasis the style of their technique but it cant look too over encumbering a nice shirt can also work if you find a decorative one. you want to avoid anything bulky hell you could even pull off magic pirate if you can get it down right

I've not done the 65 one so I couldn't tell you as far as that goes. Ive had 4 DF tanks in the 63 dungeon: 2 were in shire (wars with returning player icons) 1 in HQ white gear (drk), and 1 with proper mix of 270 Alex/shire gear (pld). The guy in white gear was pretty squishy but I queued with 2 friends playing SAM so everything just melted before any issues happened. I did have to use 2 or 3 Cure IIs that time though because mr white gear pulled 6 of those palace guards at once and they hit pretty hard.

I'm hardly spamming cures though. I'm wearing my Crit/Det 270 set, using Alex weapon.

I've never been much of a lore nerd but some of this Au Ra lore is interesting. I'm surprised they put this much effort into giving each of the tribes their own personality.

He literally will. BLM had no trouble finding statics in 3.x, SMN had no trouble finding statics in 3.4, even after the speedkill meta was enforced by pugs. Actual competent statics don't force a speedkill meta before they've actually cleared shit, and you will never wipe as a result of your party composition not outputting enough possible DPS, it'll always be player error besides Gordias at release

out of the 3 statics in my FC on Gilga, 2 of them are running PLD/WAR and one is PLD/DRK and I'm pretty sure it's solely because the DRK doesn't want to try to learn WAR - which is totally fine

Tanks are in a pretty decent spot, but DRK definitely got the short end of the stick so far

Raid isn't even out yet, numbers can get changed - PLD is definitely overtuned and will probably see some number nerfs

Been tanking PLD since 1.0, First one im FC due to days off and insta queues. Out of all 3 tanks PLD is my absolute favorite, would not switch for the world.

I mean my statics are both formed from pre-SB, one from Midas Savage, one from my other FC bundle of nerds, and in both cases I can play BLM or RDM and not have that contested because most people I know still plan to go with their old mains, or SAM, I don't actually know many people rerolling RDM

As a RDM without a static I'm not worried. There are always statics out there and there will be several new waves of impending statics that need a good player, including:
>wave of "casuals" that get to 70 and want to start content, pretty much anyone that didn't rush to 70 asap and have a static ready when they got there
>the FotM falloff, once people have had their fun with SAM/RDM and no longer want to play it and go back to their old mains
>the content falloff, shitters that play for the first month or so of expansion and get bored because they already played it to death and leave their static slots open
Even discounting those, there are always statics that want good players. They might not be super epic world first top tier players, but there are serviceable statics looking always

Is this game good or not

If I've never played this game, how long will it take me to level from 1-70? in terms of /played time. I want to try the game out but if it's going to take me a year to reach max level fuck that.

Is it just me or are healers actively discouraged from doing consistent dps this expansion? I can still get by but I keep running into mana problems, plus the outgoing damage from most dungeons really makes me want to focus on just healing.

Spamming Broil is what is giving me mana issues during a prolonged fight, you can really feel the nerf to aetherflow, but then again I don't take Lucid Dreaming. If I don't spam my DPS abilities, there are no mana problems whatsoever.

It's a shame that from what we've seen so far they're trying to shoehorn us into not contributing very much DPS, but we'll see.

They are the caith sith ears. you got them as a preorder bonus for the caith sith plush.
But in SB there are other fox ears which you get from a fate too, they are nice aswell (Tamano headband).

The game's designed to get your first class/job to max level fast, and levelling other classes/jobs is pretty quick too. XIV is a game that encourages you to play multiple roles so obviously they let you level fairly fast. You could definitely hit max level in a month.
