Luka's starting sword is unique and can't be gotten rid of unlike every other weapon. It also has its own upgrade path that continues throughout all of part 1.

Paradox's plot is about trying to follow the "true history" as much as possible. In the VNs Luka's iron sword was left untouched in favor of a completely different weapon for most of the story.
I'd bet a dollar that the status of Luka's sword is going to be one of the things with big consequences down the line.

I believe you can get them both on one playthrough by doing newgame+. One anon posted a screenshot of Lucia and Lily talking to each other in the pocket castle. The only exception to this at the moment is Alice and Ilias, but those you probably will be able to recruit the other eventually.

Part 3 is absolutely terrible.

Since I got sick of saying why Part 3's a bad game, I'm just going to make this instead so that I only have to write it once. The one and only aspect of the game that's kind of okay is the music. Everything else is, at best, significantly worse than Part 1 and 2, and at worst, completely, irredeemably terrible and practically game-ruining on its own.

- THE NARRATIVE ITSELF -

The game actually starts out okay. The castle part and Remina labs are both decent setups for the whole world going to shit, Luka's ring breaking and him going full Angel mode on the bitch that burned Ilias Village was cool, and Enrika was good too. However, two major things happen here that end up really screwing the game later; Alice turning into a loli and Luka losing the spirits. By themselves, those two things seem okay. But they're handled so unbelievably badly later on that they seriously hurt the game.


No, the problems don't really start until you finish Enrika, and Micaela gives this massive infodump about Ilias and how the world was created and everything else. This takes an incredibly long time, is nothing but bland exposition, and gives you way too much (and a lot of completely irrelevant) info, and worst of all, it's fucking boring. This indicates the first of Part 3's major problems. Its pacing is HORRIBLE. Part 1 and 2 did a good job of steadily building to a climax (and various minor climaxes throughout), but Part 3 is completely all over the place. There'll be several hours of absolutely nothing important happening, and then suddenly you're given 20 minutes of exposition. Or a character's tragic backstory is randomly shown, or whatever other clichéd crap Torotoro felt like pulling out of his ass that day.

We're also given another important plot point at Enrika. If Luka uses his holy powers too much, his human body will burn up, he will become pure holy energy. In other words, Luka will fucking die. This is probably one of, if not THE single biggest problem in a game where damn near everything's a problem. Once again, on its own, it's fine. But the way it's handled later on absolutely ruins the whole game in a way that isn't readily obvious even after you finish the game. And I do mean it ruins Luka's entire story, not just Part 3. That's how bad it is.

Lastly, any moral ambiguity from this point on was thrown completely out the window. Up to this point, it was shown that monsters themselves could be pretty damn evil when they wanted to be, and that Ilias just may have had a slight point. But once Micaela gives her big infodump, it basically becomes "MONSTER GOOD, ANGEL BAD" while Alice acts obnoxious. From that point on, the only monsters that aren't totally good or just misunderstood are the ones working for Black Alice/Ilias. Alice I was stronger and superior to Ilias in every way and the monsters were better than everybody ever, YAY!

Anyway, after Enrika, the game almost immediately takes an absolutely massive nosedive in quality, from which it never recovers. And it just seems to get worse and worse and worse. It's the part that even the most adamant defenders of Part 3 generally despise. The fucking Spirit Hunt. Before you do that, though, you have to go back to Iliasburg and Harpy Village. These parts are still okay (Queen Harpy), but still worse than what came before.

Next, we get to Sentora. And what follows is quite possibly the most BORING Armageddon ever recorded. Literally all you do for the next several hours is go to an area you already went to, watch a few forced, terrible H-scenes between random Setouchi monsters and some generic people, fight a couple bland monsters that serve absolutely no purpose, get your spirit back, read a terrible, 2-minute H-scene and then get a crappy version of her power back. Along the way, you get to read more terrible, writing with dumb shit pulled from Torotoro's ass ("Knightroid left a note, she must be honorable!"), see how everyone is magically working together because "COEXISTENCE YAY!", watch every important character slowly deteriorate (see CHARACTERS below), and try your hardest not to fall asleep. This doesn't even qualify as filler. This is beyond filler. This is a goddamn insult to filler. What was the point of making Part 3 longer than the other two parts if half of it is just shitty padding? The only interesting part that happens here is when LaCroix is revealed to be Chrome's sister in the mansion. That's literally it.

And yes, that's right. The Spirit Hunt™ where pretty much nothing interesting happens is half the fucking game. Torotoro actually thought wasting half the game on this crap was a good use of what's supposed to be the game's climax, what parts 1 and 2 were building toward. Saying that Part 3 is good but then saying the Spirit Hunt is bad is like saying FFXIII is good because of Gran Pulse. It does not work that way.

Actually Paradox 1 was also released early by DLsite. There may have been other exceptions in the past but for as long as I've used DLsite I've only seen Paradox receive this sort of special treatment.
