Obviously with that build simon's bb gun is only good tricked out, but if you're good at outspacing you can bait attacks and fire quick shots.
The parasite is a matter of opinion, I reckon. IMO it's only worth if you go all in with gems and broccoli head, but some folks will disagree.
Evelyn is always reliable, any blt build can't go wrong with it. Rosmarinus is about the same as the bowblade, if you're good about kiting/outspacing you can get some surprisingly good damage with it.

Biggest thing to keep in mind is you'll be fragile and have little for close range, spacing and kiting are a must unless you git gud.

Except it doesn't because Chikage only has one good move and it's hugely telegraphed and easy to dodge. The Bloodletter has infinite range, giant sweeping hitboxes, and a fucking AoE that does charged R2 damage that has armor. Chikage sucks and doesn't even begin to compare.

Saw spear does similarly large damage on 50/25 or 50/50. Fully gemmed whirli is the same, and has arguably worse phantom range than the chikage.

I find the Letter easier to deal with than the Chikage.

The letter at least has an actual moveset that you can learn and counter by good timed dodges and knowing when it's safe to put a hit in.

Chikage users just keep zipping and if you get nowhere close to them they unzip and win every single trade and so you can do NOTHING but stay away and spam guns to maybe get a parry. Even when you hit them before they unzip the hitbox still connects you for half your life.

So I've been playing Bloodborne for a while now and I just recently got hooked up on chalice dungeons. (originally I found them to be extremely repetitive and boring)

I spent 5 hours of exploring and unlockig shit and killed Abbhorrent friend just a few minutes ago. So I have one single question:

WHERE ARE MY FUCKING GEMS???

The best I received was a 15% Physical gem. That's 5 hours of exploring repetitive shit and I eventually just succumbed and gave up. It took me 20 mins to get the 18% Physical one from the main storyline. What's Miyazaki's fucking problem?

The first step is accepting that the Stake will always be a worse Rakuyo/Saif. Everything the Stake can do, those can do better. Once you accepted that, you start to get good to compensate, your best shot is staring with slow weapons you can interrupt.

I couldn't find it, but I have a video of me killing a bloodletter user with it. You just gotta chain those quick R1s or 300+ damage each.
