I remember my whole fucking life's story, in fact.

I got into Atlus games first with the original Odin Sphere release, which was still at a time when Atlus was only publishing/partially funding Vanillaware games. I didn't really have too strong a perception of the difference between publishers and devs at that point (2007), and Atlus was a developer too which made things additionally confusing, so I just went after other games they had published. After playing Skygunner and loving that, I went for P3 since that was their newest thing. Loving that game, P4 then happened, and by the time the spinoffs happened I realized what I liked about P3 was going out the window for extremely by the numbers anime stuff, and switched over to mainline SMT for awhile. P5 turning out to be Atlus' best game by leaps and bounds was something I had hyped myself up with by the time footage for it finally surfaced, but it actually living up to that was not something I was really expecting in my heart.

P5 is further the only game I've ever played that very nearly turned me into a massive waifufag because of pic related. I almost became the very thing I would frequently criticize, and the thing that scares me is that if I'd actually gone through with it I may not have really cared once I was on the other side.
