It's actually pretty good, but a bit too obtuse to figure out at times.
The tree segment that anon posted is what made me realize there actually is a good amount of thought into it.
It seems like bullshit, but there's actually multiple ways to deal with the trees.
Obviously a molotov behind you then turning around will have them kill themselves, but that's wasteful when you want molotovs for those faggot control spore plants.
The second option is to line yourself up to shoot down one of the hanging lanterns all over the area. Makes a small fire on the spot so it'll do the same as the molotov without wasting one. Can be hard though cause they're not always in the best spots to do it.

Then I found the true way to beat them.
Take it slow, find the fucker by quickly turning back and forth and playing "spot the difference", walk in front of it, and shoot upwards.
Apparently that's a "headshot" and I think it should kill them instantly in all the modes (haven't tried it in all of them though). Only works if the thing hasn't exposed itself to you yet though. If you get caught you have to waste the clip killing it.

Also, the dog plants will die in one hit if you manage to shoot them in the ass after they pass by. Avoiding the hit is really hard, but you can still hit them in the ass even with the hitstun if you try.

I think the sprite work is very good and the gameplay can be infuriating but it is actually manageable and kinda fun once you learn all the mechanics. A lot of micromanaging that some can enjoy while others might hate. It's definitely more focused on challenge than fap material, which you often get with higher quality ACT games.

That said, I hope there is a sprite gallery at the end of the road with it so I can enjoy the sprite porn later. It's actually pretty good sprite porn too, nice size and a lot of variation.

I think one of the core issues is, it's the newest RPGM thus there's few compatible assets (changed default tile size), so everything looks the same. Fucking finally finished. It still took 3 and half hours, skipping all the text and avoiding all the fights. And because the endings depend on some events right at the start of the game, you have to replay the whole fucking thing to get a different one. What's worse, there's no 'branching', it's a linear story and 'doing well' just means you miss certain scenes, the plot doesn't change at all. It's just not worth it.
At least the bad end gave you a full sex scene.
