It's quite fun, even if there's loads of technical issues, but I can't drop it. I keep coming back for more.

Right now I'm grinding my duplicate characters. It seems like evolving one tier to the other is a bad idea as the ones you get naturally are better than the evolved ones. That and evolving my A-Team from Bronze to Silver leaves me without an A-Team for the Bronze Prize Fights.

Just like with fighting games, not everyone has the same tastes. So I'm glad the Mobile game can appeal to some people that weren't interested or hadn't warmed up to playing SG proper.
As long as Hidden Variables does right by their players and listens to their feedback, it's all good.

And who knows, maybe some of these new fans will come to support the scene in other ways.

Interesting thing I noticed. Seems like the IGG InDemand being closed for Indivisible was more than just a timing thing. You actually can't find the campaign listed on the site when you search for it. You can't find Skullgirls with a direct search either, but it does sneak into certain categories. You also don't see the Meridian Rooftops image on the IGG homepage anymore.

Peter said he was really unhappy with IGG's level of support during the Indiv campaign, Something must have brought them to the point of just finally cutting promotional ties with the site.all together.

It's kinda too bad, because LZ's campaigns showed some of the perks of the site. The extension option, lower fees, and fewer last-minute failed transactions definitely played a big part in getting SG & Indiv funded.

IGG must have really over-promised their support on Indiv though, and so the cold shoulder they gave LZ when the campaign wasn't a breakaway success left a scar. Roll that on top of the site's other problems and I can understand why Peter would want to move away from them.

Seems like 505 is at least helping a little bit in the marketing area. The booth at E3 was entirely their thing, and they'll probably try to push the game a little harder next year like they did for Bloodstained.

I got bored quickly. grinding is a pain in the ass and as far as I can see its gonna be pve. The fact that each card has its own pool of energy means having to constantly switch up teams to train and redoing the same levels give pathetic amounts of exp.

tl;dr-It was fun for a while but it became a chore pretty fast

Well, they won't be using IGG, that's for sure. They'd probably rather not crowdfund at all though.

IGG's extension wasn't anything special on their part. It was just a standard policy on the site. Any campaign can do it as long as they hit the requirements.
And of course they'd say Indiv was their biggest Gaming success after the fact. That wasn't when LZ needed their help though.

Here's what I've seen Peter say about it:

If it was something IGG committed to do, then yeah, it is. That was part of why LZ stuck with them at all.

Trying one more time to get into SG. What happened to combo tutorials? I thought individual combo tutorials for each character were in there with the game mechanics and character specials/blockbusters. Were they removed or am I remembering wrong?

Nothing was removed, just scroll through the Tutorials and you'll find the character specific stuff towards the end.

If you want to learn combos though, you'll either have to have access to the Trials Mode in 2nd Encore, or go to the forums and look them up (links in OP).

So is anyone here actually going to play MvCI? There are too many red flags for me to bother with it on release, but I can't really judge if the gameplay looks bad or not (PC player).

Yeah. For the most part they work ok for casual play against bots, but anytime I want to move forward or back or even toss a fireball, there's always a chance that I'll jump by accident. I liked the PS3 pad the best because it felt like the dpad buttons were separate and I could input the directions I wanted exactly. Feels like they went backwards with the PS4 pad. In particular, downback from player one side is really tough to do, it's like it just wants to jump 50% of the time. Moving backwards also ducks or jumps by accident sometimes. Never had this problem with a PS3 pad.
