You don't miss much by going for True Demon End first. If you want to see one of the other endings just make a seperate save file before clearing the final floor in the Amala Labyrinth, your route doesn't get locked into TDE until you finish the entire thing.

For his Ragas, Combat Tara, and Salvation alone, yeah. One of the best supporters you can get late game, especially if you also give him Doping.

Might want to give him Healing Knowhow or something to help restore his MP, but that depends on how long he'll last w/ YHVH. Also whether or not you're fighting him on Conflict/War, since War iirc loves to suck your MP at the last 1/3.

You can give him Deadly Wind and Thunder Gods, but he barely ever uses them since so many endgame bosses love unbuffing, debuffing, and generally doing shitloads of damage even with +3s across the board in everything.

Pretty much, yeah.

Venomous raga is amazing, and Combat Tara is a bit more MP efficient than Luster Candy, I'd try and give him Mediarahan instead of his learned Salvation though, and Healing Knowhow for Dekunda/Dekaja stones and ailment removal/MP restore. He's amazing for YHVH and Stephen fights.

You can slap a damage skill on him if you want, but it probably won't see much use.

I never felt more confident cloning shit through a compendium. Good racial, 3 open passive slots so you can put pierce and still have 2 more slots. Garuda is best boy. I assume multi-hit is just as broken in DeSu 2 or did they tone it down in Record Breaker? Just wish my favorite green blob wasn't level 40 so he'd be viable late game but oh well.

Nope, multistrike is even more broken in Record Breaker, and they added a single target version too. Plus in desu2 you have upgraded racial skills which makes garuda even more ridiculous. Plus, the ultimate avian (da peng) is a much better garuda and isn't unique.

I think making it flashier in-game like all of the illustrations over the years could work. Demi-fiend going wild against hordes of angels and demons, Aleph being held by the golden Archangels, Satan and various angels descending from the skies, IMAGINE's image with the forces of Law and Chaos duking it out while you and your demons stand in the middle, etc.

Also, it could be marketed as hardcore to get that crowd. There are a lot of people who try to beat difficult games just to show that they can. Make the characters actual characters, but not anime stereotypes. I thought that SMT IV's characters were really likable and that's what made seeing Walter as some kind of tumorous growth on Lucifer's arm hurt. They just need to expand them a bit further than SMT IV did. Walter deciding to spare Lilith and many of his decisions afterward felt out of nowhere. It's like a crucial character arc was missing where he was convinced that it was the only way.

I think it would also be cool to have a system like NINE where alignments include Light, Neutral, and Dark. I had been hoping that SMT X FE would be like that since there were so many different characters between both franchises, but we all know how that turned out.

Now that I think about it, even though Jonathan and Walter's characters aren't the most deepest or well-executed, I genuinely liked them. I was actually fine with Apocalypse's cast too, except for Nozomi and Toki in the second half of the game.
Whereas I barely liked Persona 5's cast to the point that it was ruining a lot of my enjoyment of the game. They're all fairly shallow characters in the end, so I'm not sure what hits my autism or not.

I felt the same way for both characters the moment they suddenly pulled their blades against one another. It was too sudden, since beforehand the characters were just in mutual disagreement with their ideologies and didn't want to outright harm each other.

I haven't played NINE, how does that work?
I liked SH's system where you could not scout demons that were too far out your alignment system, and in some cases demons even refusing to join you if you have somebody they didn't like on your team.
I'd appreciate even small things like Inugamis refusing to join you because you have a Setanta/Cu Chulainn in your party. Nocturne did these things pretty well, made the demons feel more like actual characters.

I just finished the segment with the human farm, and I feel like the character pacing is entirely missing. Jonathan and Walter had no reason to suddenly clash. I feel like this is even more obvious to me, cause I just finished Strange Journey, a game where I believe the Law and chaos reps have full character arcs to the point where you believe that they butt heads and it makes sense within the scope of the story. You believe they can have sudden conflict because their development up until that point builds them up properly.

I don't feel that at all with Walter & Jonathan, despite liking them both. Isabeau is exactly as you say as well, indecisive as ever, and has the least development of the two. For a neutral rep, she doesn't have a lot going for her at all.

Disagree. I think it's just that Jonathan's character is a lot more subtle.

Walter is more vocal and blunt about his beliefs due to his hot-blooded personality, and strongly wants Tokyo/Mikado to change according to his ideology. He can appreciate Tokyo a lot more than Jonathan for world of STR and lack of getting screwed over by the caste system. Easy to know what the game was doing with him.

Jonathan is more calm and shown to be sensitive at times (dude looks like he wants to cry sometimes), isn't as proactive as Walter because he doesn't need to be; he just wants to keep the status quo overall, instead of actively wanting to change something. While he's much more empathetic to the people of Tokyo and in general, he's been shown to be naive and doesn't realize how privileged he is.
I feel his final speech reveals a lot of that. He gets upset that people think only for themselves and how they're unable to co-exist, but doesn't realize it's easier for him to say that when he's never lived on the shorter end of the stick, and how the life on Mikado already suits him fine. It's similar to things like race tensions, and how those who aren't fucked over are less likely to demand change.
There was also a time where Jonathan was shown to be very prone to anger/violence, but I don't know if that's just ooc or something that wasn't developed enough. I like the idea of a pure boy getting feisty, honestly.

I like to think of Walter as an excited kid at Hot Topic/Tokyo whereas Jonathan, not being interested in the shit, just wants to go home and eat bread

I'm sorry I went tl;dr a bit, but I do feel that IV had a thing going on with Walter and Jonathan, just not executed well. IV in general is the equivalent of a cake made with really expensive and high quality ingredients, but the cooks didn't know how to bake the damn thing so you just end up getting a cake that 'could've been better'.

It's the iOS version, which is basically the GBA version so kinda. If you extract the save data from the iOS App Bundle it's actually named 'gbasram'.
