Usually no. You will get booted from WvW squads, and considered a leech a lot of the time if you use a longbow. It's really only viable in 1v1 fights, and only has specific benefits that outweight all other classes in raids and fractals if you have Druid specialization through HoT. Sometimes people come up to my character. They stand about 5 feet away and then they emote having a cigarette, drinking a coffee or something. You can easily tell the story is written by women. The overbearingly feminist narrative, the focus on interpersonal drama and family/relationship issues, etc.

The narrative that is supposed to be at the forefront in a fantasy setting - the heroes, the bad guys and the buildup to defeating them, is completely tossed aside and easily resolved by random asura inventions and last minute asspulls at every corner.

I think male writers are shit at writing female characters, too, but this is at the other extreme end of the spectrum. I am extremely disappointed with the cast and the overall plot.
