While they did put the FFs (or most of them) in Spinball and she was in early ideas for Sonic Mars, the former was just as much an AoStH game and the latter was scrapped in favour of a new character entirely eventually.

America did force her into the manual of CD, but that obviously just didn't go anywhere.

So the reason I think this has absolutely nothing to do with anything Sega has shown us what so ever. What makes me think this is a teaser done by First 4 figures, the teaser being this picture.

So in this picture it appears Classic is performing the super peel out, fair enough. However, this is a 20th anniversary statue, so just classic sonic doing the super peelout wouldnt be enough, there has to be a second part to it. What part? Why another character, obviously. So I know you're thinking "well it's modern, dur"

HOWEVER!

There's something else to keep in mind. On the facebook, Alex davis (creator of first 4 figures) posted around the time that the Switch trailer with the 3rd character silhouette was shown about how he got the "final puzzle piece" from Sega for the 25th statue. So keep in mind, why would he be waiting on the "final puzzle piece"? Obviously it has to be something not yet revealed to the public, otherwise the full statue would have had a complete model. The real question is, would they really put Classic Sonic next to the new character, without modern?

OF COURSE NOT!

See, sega still wants to show off the new character, thats why they waited, and this new character will be on the statue. But you can't have classic sonic without modern sonic because thats what forces is about, which means that the second character has to be modern, AN ALTERNATE VERSION OF MODERN THAT WAS ONLY RECENTLY SHOWN TO F4F TO PUT ON THE STATUE SO MODERN AND CLASSIC COULD BE TOGETHER BUT IT WOULD ALSO ADVERTISE SONIC FORCES' NEW CHARACTER!
