Hey, you took my idea. For gems, Fire gems would be the obvious choice, and could probably be done at 43. Get base stats for the Stake Driver and Boom Hammer, probably Military Veteran or Violent Past, and Arc for the fire conversion unless I've missed something.

I'd still say a 25/50, mostly because the untricked Chikage is lackluster. If you're dead set on 40/40, if you do Noble Scion with 40/15/10/40/40/9, that puts you at 104, which isn't bad.

Rally doesn't refer to the temporary health you can gain back, it refers to how much of that health is regained per hit of your weapon. Compare how much health you regain using a Hunter's Axe compared to the Blade of Mercy. The Guidance rune and other rally-boosting things will increase that part.

Brainsuckers don't exist in Loran, which is where Waning gems drop. So you can't effectively get good flat damage Waning gems. So you go with Radial and Triangle gems, which are with dungeons which do have brainsuckers

There are three main builds with Wheel
>Uncanny Tempering/Blunt
Maxed out damage for the one-handed mode, but limits the use of the tricked mode as it becomes mainly an arcane damage weapon.

>Uncanny Flat/Poison
Abuse the multihits from tricked mode in order to deal a fuck-load of damage from flat gems, or to near-instantly poison someone depending on their resistances. This is a staple of twink builds due to only needing the base stats.

This is overall the best setup for a Strength/Arcane character. Gives good damage in untricked form, and the most overrall damage with the tricked form. Turns the Wheel overrall into a monster.

You're not really talking about the same things.

You don't have to farm Rom for "hours and hours to get the perfect gem". You just have to get an Abyssal you don't hate.

Resigning oneself to a loss of damage to avoid fighting a harder boss for very probably a similar amount of time overall isn't the same thing as not farming for a perfect gem.
