I'm on console and I don't know if this is a hack that exists but the enemy team would put down a Sym teleporter that had no oval glow, when shot it would say "Teleporter Destroyed" and it would still stay up and they could use it indefinitely. Somehow we still won with them setting it up the final point on Hollywood but man that was some bullshit.

The "power" of dive comp isn't anything to do with the DPS choices, how fast burst is, or really any of that stuff because it's all the same.

It's just Winston vs Ana. That Winston barrier counters Ana harshly, and if a barrier marginalizes Ana long enough things are out. If you look at the 3 DPS in dive comp, you don't strictly need Genji/Tracer/Widowmaker as it was in original usage- it could be any combination of Genji, Tracer, Widowmaker, Hanzo, Pharah, D.Va, Sombra, or hell, even Reaper and Junkrat if played by the right talent. It simply needs heroes that have ways to get around onto angles to offer some kind of damage support to Winston's ticklegun.

Winston vs. Ana was understood as far back as the Beyblade era. In interviews, pro players would describe it "Sometimes *against lesser teams* you can just jump Ana in the back with a Winston and a Tracer and get rid of the problem before barrier is gone". Then after a series of changes (Ana nerfs death of beyblade, Roadhog hook 2.0, Winston barrier, etc.) this Winston-led dive to counter Ana became more viable.

I don't see dive comp surviving much longer. After the Lucio change that promotes clustered tank play again, and with people learning to just burst Winston's barrier health quickly and efficiently to clear space for Ana, tripletank will be back in full force, and the game will revolve around busting barriers, hooks and biotic grenades again.

The Lucio change affected Dive just as much as Deathballs ironically enough. For the longest time, the problem with Dive was always how incredibly fragile everyone was. Especially when you're running Lucio Zen.

The damage and heal buff to Lucio made him amazing for dive. You couldn't really utilize Lucio's gun in a deathball the way you could in a dive comp. A dive comp lets Lucio pocket another hero and get behind the Rein shield to do 80 damage in a single click, which is more than enough to finish off half dead targets. His heal and added speed makes him an absolute pain to kill and he can now pick up the slack of having Mercy/Zen as the other healer.

Basically, wait till everyone's with you, hold your shield, and walk forward past a choke with your team safely behind you. Don't charge unless you're 100% sure you're going to live through it, or when you're sure the rest of your team will win the ensuing fight. Also learn to aim Firestrikes, the hitbox is a little wonky. Don't get isolated, despite his bulk, Reinhardt will lose 80% of the duels he gets into if the enemy player isn't retarded and they're at full health.

Those are the basics. Also, don't waste shield health unless you need to.
