When I started highschool and picked up Persona 3 on a blind whim it was just overall enjoyable and cheered me up mostly, despite the fact the game was extremely depressing it resonated with me near the end with the whole vibe of "light at the end of the tunnel kind of deal". I figured that if I could develop a character like the P3 MC I should try and at least develop myself and not be a massive depressing NEET.
P4 was right around when I ended highschool and I fell into the dreary life hitting realization that I'm going to become an adult and life is going to become a monotonous mess but playing P4 and having that absolutely comfy lifestyle that is close to more or less how I live currently made me realize that there is more to life than just making money and paying the bills.

I took up extra hours at work to support my mother who I was helping and defending her from my father and sacrificed college/social life/internet
