Also, theres an ancient technique from DS1 called "blocking" that works pretty good against her as long as your shield doesn't have garbage stability.

Midir has more attacks and is much more ferocious, but ironically enough, he's pretty kind with how he telegraphs what he's about to do.

The Dancer, for the points of the game in which you fight her (after all, there's no way to have a fully upgraded weapon in NG without first surpassing her or doing one of the DLCs, and even then, the idea of you getting a hold of sufficient chunks without access to Lothric Castle is questionable) hits extremely hard. She does telegraph her attacks, and they're very slow and methodical, but she has some subtle differences in each that can throw the player off, and one explicitly designed to trick players once she enters her second phase.

If you get intimidated by her, she'll chase you down and kill you with a certainty, and getting near her is dangerous as well. During her second phase, opportunities to hit her are scarce. I don't think she's harder than Midir, but I can see why someone would think so. Her potential for aggravation far exceeds his.

I decided to say fuck it and use the pickaxe to kill the rest of the bosses. It's way more fun than the frozen straight sword, maybe because it's the first time I try a weapon with a greataxe moveset.

What's with From Software's artificial difficulty
Input queue system doesn't add anything
Input delay, intentional unresponsive controls is stupid

I'd be okay with the queue system if input delay just stopped existing. I'll fight Friede, press Circle to dodge, and the dodge doesn't come out until way later, I get hit. The game keeps that rolled stored, it rolls after hit recover and I eat a roll catch. That's fucking stupid

Why does it take 60 int/60 fth 40/40 int/fth just to do decent damage for casters? while you also HAVE to invest in attunment for FP and slots? AND you can't even make up for the lack of end/vig with rings because you HAVE to wear 3 rings at least so you'd do good damage and cast faster (Why Dex boost casting speed anyway? wth?).

Well, you could say that casters can attack from afar and don't need too much health, but lightning spears do MORE damage when hit from close range, black flame and great combustion do tons of damage, and crystal spear and other spells makes you stand still for a second.

It would make alot more sense if Lightning spears did more damage when hit from far away instead of rewarding close ranged combat for miracles users, let magic users move while casting and aim better with their spells, and give preservense WA flame for pyromancers so they could make use of chaos storm and other pyromancies that root you in place. or maybe don't make casters wear 3 or 4 rings to do decent damage. so many options, im not saying do every thing at once, but if from applied only ONE of these suggestions casters would have it much easier and have a fair chance to have fun in this game before they hit SL120..

I even started a pure dex playtrough to play around with it and the repeating crossbow.

Now, whenever I get invaded, I have to first test the waters with the weapon art R1, and if that doesn't hit, I will switch to chaosblade and bait a parry, when they think I am trying to catch them with the slashes.

She is painfully easy boss when you learn to read her, and people still complain about her being unfair.

I'll say it.

Story. Dark Souls 2 did story better.

Dark 2 felt like a personal, intimate story about a man (or woman) looking for an end to their suffering. A wildly weird, complex series of events leads them toward becoming a Monarch or forsaking the Throne to find another way. On the face of it, it's opera, but dig just a little under the surface and what you find is a story about loss, fear, and identity. More succinctly, fear of losing who you are.

And with the SOTFS added bits, it becomes more profound and more engrossing, because neither the game nor Aldia are encouraging you to look at it in such basic "this is the bad guy who did this bad thing" way, but instead in a more philosophical, existential manner. You're not fighting a big dude in armour, or a dude who chose to link the fire (or end it), you're not even fighting the fire itself; you're fighting nature. More succinctly, you're battling the idea of nature.

This lends itself to probably the most optimistic ending in the trilogy, the one where you reject the Throne of Want and instead decide to forge your own path, to reach beyond the scope of light and the reach of dark for something else. Something perhaps new, perhaps different. Whatever it is, it has to be better than this endless cycle of light and dark, of triumph and misery, of life and death. Throughout the game we're shown that not only the cycle repeats, but entire civilizations and indeed people repeat. Reincarnation plays a pretty big role in the game, I think.

In the end the game leaves you optimistic that, even if it takes a thousand years, or a thousand cycles, there will be a way out. You'll seek it and, I think, find it, eventually. Such is your fate.

The weapon art is mostly for PvP, the WAR2 would be your best bet for PvE for quickly bleeding enemies. Also fyi you can combo a basic R1 into the WAR2 against players in PvP.

My damage output is insane compared to other builds and even down scaled phantoms die in a single cast or combo while needing multiple hits on me.
