I wouldn't stress so much about maxing out your Confidants in NG+ though, since the biggest gate for this in a first playthrough is your social stats. In an NG+ those should already be maxed so you shouldn't worry too much. That said, the fortune teller and now this mail method should definitely help a lot.

I'd say strength breaks the game in half at rank 10, especially as money comes so easy. Chihaya and Kawakami are nice for freeing up time but don't really skew game balance beyond that.

I finally beat persona Q.

The story was actually pretty fucking good and the seemingly 1-dimensional original characters come into their own. The only problem is it's like...60 hours for the story to really exist and the dungeons become ever more sprawling with less and less events to break up the monotony.

That game could've been perfect if not for the easily avoidable pitfalls they fell into numerous times.

I think the game gets way more hate than it deserves though.

The problem with Inaba pride is it's huge as fuck, and the puzzles involve literally traversing vast distances over and over event are scarce compared to previous dungeons, and the aesthetics are like they just vomited out red and orange everywhere. The boss and room are really the only good part, as mentioned.
