Idk if mages have silences but that definitely is one. If deep frost has to use arcane missiles it's fucking over. Maybe engineering can help you with that wouldn't know.

Ice barrier is really good but if it's already down and they're using mana shield then fucking burn their mana down ASAP. They'll panic if they start having to recast mana shield a lot.

Don't send in your pet first that's just asking to get it sheeped. Using a prowling cat might be interesting though, especially if they are drinking. They'll probably frost nova first right there and you can swoop in at that moment. Maybe a drive by wing clip for good measure? Either that or just staying outside fire blast range, I think that's 15 I'm probably wrong. Don't get cone of colded though so max range still prob your best bet. You want their attention on you though not pet anyways, so like having stealthed cat unstealth and attack after you get their attention would be good. Definitely trying to get them to waste nova on the pet and not you.

If they blink towards you maybe you can time it to where they run back towards the direction where your pet is (if novad). Having takk the leaper with higher pursuit speed might be more helpful than broken tooth also since mages can easily just spam instant casts.

I definitely had a bigger problem with lupos than broken tooth.

Maybe if i'm really lucky i get a second scatter off, which allows me to limp a couple y away, but never a second trap.

The big issue is that i have nothing after the trinket. Clip just slows me as well and scatter, fd, trap is on CD for another 15 seconds.

Barely. Problem with outnumbering starts and ends at bg queue. Most horde has like 30-40 minutes bg queues, while ally got instant queues, so horde goes outside to get some more honor and ally just sit in their capitals so it looks like there is a massive horde advantage in all contested zones.

Elysium in general is a bad place to go if you just want to enjoy vanilla leveling and dungeons. Every single zone is over farmed(the realm constantly sits at 2-3 times vanilla pop cap), you'll be fighting for mob spawns with both ally and horde and there are a ton of high level players with pent up frustration taking it out on the lower folk.

They aren't mages, that's the big reason.
Another reason is that the people you're asking all exclusively play alliance and they have less locks in vanilla.

The wizard archetype is popular in any similar game so mages have that going for them, as well as being great in pvp, pve, and the best gold farming class as well (or at least that's the perception which is all that matters).
As far as faction differences in population, horde still needs warlocks but alliance will always need them more. Alliance always has less locks than horde while horde will have less hunters than alliance. Both sides will have 12891972 mages/rogues/warriors-without-a-shield.

The reason i started this whole discussion was that i was leveling BT in searing gorge and got jumped by frost mage after frost mage for about 2 fucking hours. So i was really racking my brain what i could do differently and actually survive. Best piece of advice i got was specc BM(yeah great, with a lv43 pet and respecc again for a dungeon run later) and/or get as many engi toys as possible. That's not what i'd call great class balance.

Vanilla pvp 1v1s are not remotely balanced, the advice you've been given already: crutching hard on engineering and consumables - is solid.
The larger issue isn't necessarily you vs mages regardless of spec, but that balance in vanilla isn't a thing. Further, the balance meme and "bring the player, not the class" design was a big part of why the current retail game is the way it is.
I'd argue that your issue isn't so much hunter vs mages as much as it is how cancer vanilla ranking is, premades, etc, and why there are so much horde niggers roving around in gank squads compared to alliance. That and even tho it's a "dying server lol" it's still simply too many faggots and pretty much everywhere is going to be too crowded for your taste.

What level are you? I can suggest some decent grinding spots. The better ones won't be empty due to china but you're a hunter so you can grind basically anywhere and make better xp than everyone else.

some of the things for frost pvp is useful for pve encounters

the ice barrier bubble just for in general, and ice block is good for both pulling, for clamming up when low health until a healer can get you

the increased slows (permafrost) and the crit chance for frozen targets (shatter) aren't in the most common pve frost build

Blessing of Salvation allows DPS to go even more full retard leaving to faster fights and human rogues/fury warriors are better because of racials. Dwarf priests also have fear ward so tremor totem is not really needed.

Is elysium horde the absolute worst private server iteration of this faction? I have played on a number of servers and its never been this embarrassingly bad.

They get farmed in bg's, they get farmed in any fair world pvp, irrelevant in pve, 0 good premades, get cucked from world bosses, no good guilds in general etc etc

It's just sad.. what went wrong?
